Gu Kai had already buckled his seat belt.
His hands on the steering wheel, he saw her get into the car, then he lowered his head to drive without speaking.
Bai Yiyi fastened her seatbelt, turned her head to glance at him, then turned to look out the window again.
The whole trip passed in silence.
Bai Yiyi, originally looking out the car window, found her thoughts drifting before she knew it. Though her eyes were on the scenery outside, her mind was elsewhere.
"Get out of the car."
It wasn't until Gu Kai's voice next to her broke the silence that she regained her composure, unbuckled the seat belt, opened the car door, and got out, only to realize they weren't home but at the mall parking lot.
"Are you going to buy something?"
Bai Yiyi blinked in surprise, and Gu Kai just gave a faint 'mm-hmm' before striding towards the entrance of the mall.
Feeling that Gu Kai was acting a bit odd today, a flicker of hesitation crossed Bai Yiyi's mind, and she followed him out of the mall.
