"Why is it you instead of Rocket?" I walked to the black suburban with my duffel bag that held an assortment of things. Opening the door I tossed the bag in, then turned around to face the man.
George's brown eyes dimmed down, and he shook his head. He opened the drivers door and started the car. "He was shot at the last meeting, it was a crossfire." I widened my eyes.
"He's okay right?" I asked aloud and he nodded. "Alright, well I'm going to get some sleep, wake me up in the next hour." I closed my eyes, however I could not sleep. Tires turning and the road breezing by underneath, bringing me closer to the city of Sheffield.
I gave up on sleep, I sat up as we pulled through a tunnel, bright lights shining, with a couple cars passing through. The air changed as we continued through the city, Sheffield was a magnificent city, it was bright and rich in land.
Columns and statues were placed along the sides of roads with lights. Some people walked around and took pictures, the statues were famous explorers and animals, I was deeply fascinated with them.
"Kenzie, you need to get ready." George broke my attention and parked the car in a hidden ally. The outfit that I was forced to wear, was a suit with a halter top, with an open back, it was black. The dress coat was gray and the slacks.
I wore the hair piece that was gifted from Ronda, adding the necklace from Jacob, adding more color to the, dark outfit.
"Kenzie we have to get to the place in ten minutes." George rushed as he opened the door, honestly I don't know why he was complaining I was ready five minutes ago, I was just adding sparkle.
"Just hush, are we taking anything in?" I questioned, lacing the heel straps on my ankle. He looked me over, I picked up my phone and checked my messages as he drove to the restaurant were the meeting was being held.
"I'll speak to them first, you can enter if you hear commotion, as a female you'll guarantee their attention. However, if you smell something of another species, don't come in, the last thing we need is for you to be kidnapped."
I nodded while reading my messages, Jacob texted during my nap at the company, and I haven't texted back. He was probably worried sick at the moment, my scent must have dissipated if he has some of his watching me.
"We're here." I looked at the fancy building, it looked a little worn out from weather, however you could see that the inside was luxurious. The reservation was already book, all we had to do was walk in.
"The air smells salty, but something doesn't feel right." I commented under my breath and followed my guide. In my jacket it held the special knife, and a pistol, in case I had defend myself, since I didn't want to reveal my other form.
"Good evening, do you have a reservation?" A waiter walked up to us, as we stood there, I looked into the aquarium by the entrance, watching the fish swim in their home, instantly calming my nerves.
"VIP, under the name Alaric Jones." He nodded and looked in my direction, he bowed deeply, once he caught my eye. I left it alone, either he was one of ours or Jacob's watching out for me. When he lead us to the room on the third floor, he immediately left.
George looked at the door before he pressed it open, he took a breath, looking in my direction quickly. He was slow in his steps as he took account of the men in the room, the door closed before I glimpsed the people.
I listened through the wall, while looking out the window, when I heard glass shatter, and a fight breaking out in the room. I opened the door widely, and the fight immediately stopped. Three men stopped and gave me wide eyes.

"Now, now, boys. Can't we have a civil conversation, it wasn't three minutes before I heard loud ruckus within the room." She spoke in a cold tone, eyeing each one of them, before settling her eyes on Julian. Julian was shocked to see her so soon and immediately stood up and grabbed her a chair.
"Alaric Jones, you called for a meeting?" She asked sarcastically, George looked up at the young lady as she coldly looked at each one of the men carefully. The lady had many sides to her, that only came out a certain times.
"Miss Young I presume? You're here in your Father's steed." Mackenzie took a seat, keeping her posture straight. All the men's spines shivers in fear, how could a young lady make her status this quickly.
"The business." She commanded, George stood next to her watching the men. He was covered in bruises, and a slice mark on his face. [What happened?] She asked her partner.
[I was unprepared, it was for more money, however they were debating who was going to hand over the stone.] She focused her stare on Julian, who withered in his chair.
"The stone is in possession of another ruler at the moment, if you go speak to them you can--" Alaric started then, Julian took over for him.
"The only way to get your stone, is to summon a meeting with an Iraq official." Kenzie looked at the folder in front of the men. Just lying on the table waiting to be read.
"Is it really? That's upsetting, for we were willing to make a deal. How did it go to the hand of an Iraq official?" Her ice cold tone, with a hint of sarcasm, echoed in the silent room, the men's gazes shifted on another business man.
"I-it was an a-accident. We didn't think you would make the d-deal, so we sold it to them for more money." The man stuttered feeling like his soul was being read with her blueish-green eyes grazing him.
"Then this meeting can come to an end. You have nothing to offer us, don't you?" Alaric pulled out a piece of paper and set it on the desk. Mackenzie reached out and grabbed it, unrolling, it she recognized the words immediately. The prophecy.
"Where did you get this?" She read the lines and grew slightly flustered, with each line it spoke of her future.
"A trader from another land, unknown, exchanged it for something else. We have no use for this paper, however, it is useful for the right hands." Alaric smirked and George was boring his eyes into the back of the young lady's head.
"What do you want for it?" She spoke as she placed the paper in her lap.
All three men were shocked, she came here for a special rock, and now she wanted this piece of paper, with meaningless words. Julian however was pleased on how this was going, he traded the scroll to Alaric, so he would interest the young lady.
He knew what it would mean to her, but also for His Majesty would get off his back on finding the one born of fire. He smirked inwardly and looked at the young lady, rumored in the supernatural world to catch the cold, ruthless Mafia King's attention.
"Money." Alaric smiled, as much as he was surprised this lady walked in with confidence and dominance, he was the one to capture her in his trap.
"Of course it's money, how much?" she asked handing the scroll to George, planning on writing a check, for the amount, Alex would just sign off once when it hit the bank, after all they were multi-billionaires.
"I want three billion, and you." She looked up and looked into Alaric's eyes, even Julian was flustered by the cold glare. Her already dark eyes, turned a darker shade of blueish-green, the beast was demanding to be out.
"Three billion." She wrote the amount and tore out the check handing him the check, "I'm not for sale." She said in a firm, ice cold voice. She looked toward Julian who stood up and was placing a hand on Alaric's shoulder.
"Then why would your father send you on this mission?" She looked away from the old man, she was disgusted that this married man with three children, was coming after a teen.
"I came for myself, however you still don't want me, I belong to somebody with higher status." She was speaking about her tag of the certain bullet wound from the Mafia King. Alaric stood up and walked toward her, he grabbed her wrists and pulled her closer.
Without anytime to process the movement, and was locked, they only way to get out of this hold was to unleash the beast, but it would be risky.

"I very much doubt that." I froze as his gripped tightened, his hazel eyes lit up with lust. I widened my eyes, as did Julian. George was braced against a wall by two of Alaric's men, making him useless.
If only I could reach for my gun, I watched and didn't struggle, it would only tighten his grip. I listened to the light pad of footsteps on the carpet, and sniffed in the scent of pinewood and lavender.
"Why would you think that?"
