Rafaela bounded down the corridor, not because she was moving with unusual impetus, but because the centripetal force that once more pulled her in the customary direction of the floor still hadn't reached a standard G. She slid neatly to a halt outside of the door, that she was fairly certain belonged to the compartment Brennant occupied, and took a deep breath.
The genius core engineer had not been treating her like someone carrying the title Princess of Eks Corp. On the other hand, he also spoke of the woman who had been an Eks Corp princess since birth as though she were a rather unruly child. And even though he had seemingly ignored her last message, he had actually done almost everything she'd asked.
The door didn't automatically open for her the way the compartment Brennant had assigned to her core had. The control panel also ignored her touch. Instead of hammering on the door itself, like her stepsisters often had during their time on SkyWater's station, she messaged him.
