Chapter 40 - Chapter 39: Rami and Salvatore

When Salvatore and Rami reached the car and got in, Salvatore immediately grabbed Rami by the shoulder and moved him side to side, checking for gunshot wounds, scratches, or bruises.

Once he was satisfied that Rami was unharmed, he relaxed and flopped into the back seat, a look of relief and satisfaction on his face.

"Satisfied now?" Rami asks Salvatore teasingly, earning him a smack right up to his head from the latter.

"Ouch!! You're being sadistic now!! Be careful, you will get addicted!!" Rami complained.

"Hmmp!! As if!!" Salvatore snorted while smirking at Rami.

His arms crossed on his chest.

"Youu----"

"Enough of your tantrums. Let's get something to eat. I'm starving, I know, you are too." Salvatore interrupted Rami and immediately diverted his attention because he knew that food can really distract him.

"Sure. Where will we go? Is there any new Restaurant or a Café near us?" Rami excitedly asks, already forgetting what happened earlier.

Salvatore laughs a little, "Yeah. There's a new Pizza Café with their own homemade Milkteas here that recently opened. Let's try it?"

Rami nodded, "Okay!!"

Salvatore asks the driver to transport them there.

When the two reached the spot, Rami immediately pulled Salvatore toward a vacant table. He grabbed the menu and ordered every dish available.

Salvatore wasn't surprised when the waiter eventually placed countless plates on their table—he was already used to it, knowing just how much Rami could eat.

After the two had eaten and filled their stomachs, they headed straight home. Once there, they went to their rooms to change into more comfortable clothes.

Rami had a room of his own in the Draghi Ombra Famiglia mansion—a privilege granted to him as the best friend of their Boss.

No one knew that Rami had connections with one of the top ten most famous Famiglias in Italy. Not even his brothers. And he never had the chance—or the need—to tell them. Deep down, he realized he wasn't as close to his brothers as he had thought, even though he truly loved them… even if they didn't feel the same.

After Rami changes into a comfortable loose white shirt and a white short pants, he walks out of the room.

A butler saw Rami when he go out, "Il piccolo signore, Sir Salvatore, è nel Roseto sul retro. (Little sir, Sir Salvatore is in the Rose Garden in the back.)"

"Grazie per l'avviso Pulmano. (Thanks for the heads up, Pulmano.)" Rami answered gently at Pulmano while smiling, "Allora andrò. Ci vediamo in giro!! (Then I'll go. See ya around!!)"

"Ahahah!! Non si cambia mai davvero Sir Rami. Certo che vai. (Hahaha!! You really never change Sir Rami. Sure, up you go.)" Pulmano answered while laughing slightly there.

Rami waved goodbye and headed toward the Rose Garden at the back of the mansion.

As he arrived, the sweet fragrance of the roses immediately greeted him. Walking past Salvatore, he admired the stunning variety of blooms—ranging from deep black to vibrant red, from tiny buds to large, full blossoms. Some of the varieties were so rare, he recognized that they had even been brought from other countries.

'Wow. So gorgeous! They didn't have this Rose Garden in the past.' Rami exclaimed internally.

He walked among the flowers, admiring them—especially the Blue Moon Roses. He even reached out to touch them.

Under the moonlight, the Blue Moon Roses seemed to glow, their petals radiating a vibrant blue with a hint of neon pink at the center. Tiny droplets of water clung to the flowers, adding to their air of mystery and enchanting beauty.

"You're here Rami. Come here." Rami heard Salvatore's voice.

Rami reluctantly let go of the rose he had been holding, but his fingers accidentally brushed against a thorn, drawing a small drop of blood.

He didn't notice the wound nor felt the sting it caused.

He walked through Salvatore with a wide, beaming smile.

Salvatore was sitting in the pavilion at the center of the garden, dimly lit to create a serene atmosphere. The pavilion's open-air design offered a perfect view of the surrounding blooms, allowing anyone there to fully appreciate the garden's beauty.

Salvatore wore a pink polo and white short pants. He is currently sitting on the sofa there leisurely, even sitting in a Whole Hogger position.

He is leaning on the side of the sofa while his two legs are on top of the sofa. His left hand is holding a wine glass while his other hand is holding his phone.

"What happened to your hand?" Salvatore asks Rami when Rami reaches for the other wine glass that is placed on the table in the middle of the Pavilion. Not far from the sofa that Salvatore is sitting on.

Rami shrugged, he looked at his hand and became surprised to see that his fingers had small scratches and now are dripping with a little bit of his blood.

"Umhh. Maybe the thorns get me? I don't know." Rami answers carelessly while he picks a table napkin and uses it to wipe his hand to ward off the blood.

"As usual you're so reckless." Salvatore titled his head with resignation.

"That again. Will you stop it." Rami rolled his eyes.

"That's the truth. You can't deny it." Salvatore stated.

"It's not purposely okay. I always didn't mean it. Besides, today, I didn't notice that I got hurt." Rami refuted.

"Whatever you say, the fact that every time, you always cause troubles, you can't deny it." Salvatore insisted, matter of factly.

Rami made a face in front of Salvatore causing him to laugh aloud.

Okay fine, Rami can't refute it.
