Tessa let out a cold snort and said nothing, just stood there coldly.
Grandma saw Tessa and tugged at the corner of her mouth; she wanted to say something but held back.
The silent Dad Caldwell turned his head to see Tessa and stepped forward: "You're back."
Tessa nodded. She had seen Dad yesterday, but how did he seem to age ten years overnight and look so haggard? It seemed that the issue arose yesterday.
They had been trying to find a solution yesterday but found it impossible to resolve, so they called her.
She asked, "Where is Silas?"
Dad hadn't made it clear over the phone, and Tessa still didn't know exactly what the situation was.
Dad replied, "Silas has been detained. They said if we don't pay, they'll call the police. The family has pooled all the money, the house and supermarket have been mortgaged, but we've only gathered fifty million."
