In the kitchen, Winnie Barnett glanced towards the living room and saw the two entangled in flirtatious banter, her face full of worry.
Noticing her mom glancing over, Tessa Caldwell blushed instantly, the heat spreading to the tips of her ears.
She mustered all her strength to push Faye away, then stood up, "I'm going to the kitchen to help."
Before the words had finished leaving her mouth, she'd already dashed into the kitchen, standing close to Winnie Barnett, her voice soft and a bit guilty, "Mother, let me help you."
"No need for your help, go sit outside."
Tessa didn't leave, she stayed to help wash vegetables, chuckling as she asked, "Mother, have you accepted Faye?"
Winnie Barnett sighed deeply, her tone suddenly very serious, "Tessa, are you willing to go to England with mom?"
Tessa was a bit startled, feeling a sudden distress, "Is this a dilemma?"
From what she saw earlier, she thought her mom had accepted, but didn't expect this question.
