The car had driven less than a hundred meters from the police station when Tessa received a call from Faye.
Silas didn't know what the call was about; he just saw her pull over, open the door, and get out of the car.
Standing ahead was a man so handsome he seemed like a deity, tall and captivating, exuding an alluring yet deadly charm like a poppy. But his sister, grinning foolishly, cheeks flushed, lips curling into a smile, skipped and jumped towards him excitedly.
"Tessa!" he shouted.
Tessa ignored him and headed straight for Faye.
Silas was thoroughly annoyed, unable to bear the sight of his sister blinded by beauty, so he got out of the car and strode over as well.
As he approached, he heard Tessa smiling at Faye, starry-eyed, asking, "Why are you here?"
Silas, a bit peeved, snapped at Faye, "Everything's been sorted. Why are you here?"
