I quietly pulled the door shut behind me, the click of the lock sounding far louder than it should have in the stillness of the Melvin family villa. My hand lingered on the doorknob for a few seconds longer. Maybe because I was stalling. Maybe because some part of me still couldn't believe where I had just woken up.
