The Alchemical Tower would protect the surrounding area, and its location wouldn't affect its efficacy; besides, the Land of Light wouldn't have just one Alchemical Tower.
As an example, Midnight City in the Land of Light would need four or even more.
The Spiral Tower as a foundation saved a lot of time, and the Alchemical Tower still required alchemical materials primarily made of obsidian; the mining task was assigned to the Worms by the Mother of the Marsh, but the first batch of obsidian brought by merchants was rejected by Chris.
