Lin Fang understood the assignment and decided to steer the situation before it got worse.
"Well, neither you nor Zhi Yan told me that Xuenyi was there too," he argued lightly, feigning irritation. "You said it was a friend. I didn't expect that friend to be our landlord. I mean, it's not like she's a stranger, but still—imagine my surprise hearing it from someone else."
He forced a small laugh, trying to sound casual while his mind raced for an excuse.
"But then again," he added quickly, "it's not like I told you guys about Vivian either. I sold twenty percent of the company to her without even consulting or informing you three. So really, who am I to question—"
Before he could finish, a voice drifted from behind him — soft, elegant, but ill-timed.
"Who is it you're arguing about me for?"
It was Vivian.
Lin Fang froze mid-sentence.
On the other side, Li Liu's face immediately changed. Her tone sharpened.
"Who was that?"
