Chapter: The Awakening of the Century — Akira and the First Avenger
Year: 1943 — World War II, Europe
The world was at war. Nations were tearing each other apart in trenches, tanks, and secret laboratories. Verdant Trade, now the world's leading food and logistics provider, had become a silent pillar of the Allies, delivering supplies with almost supernatural efficiency.
AstraTech, controlled by Akira behind the scenes, deliberately avoided accelerating technology beyond what was permitted, respecting the balance of time. But certain "discreet" innovations—resistant materials, improved communications, advanced medical treatments—were already spread throughout the Allied forces, always in a subtle way, so as not to collapse the historical plot.
And it was in this scenario that Akira, with his unchanging appearance, moved behind the scenes of the conflict.
Location: New York, secret SSR lab — Project Rebirth
Steve Rogers, frail and determined, was ready for the experiment that would define the birth of Captain America.
In the back of the observation room, hidden beneath layers of illusions and invisibility runes, Akira watched, leaning against the wall, calmly drinking a hot tea.
At his side, Howard Stark appeared, handing over an experimental tablet—something decades ahead of technology, disguised as a simple electronic notebook protected by magic.
"It's all set, Akira," Stark murmured, adjusting his jacket. "We won't interfere directly. But Verdant's presence has ensured that the serum's ingredients have been… enhanced."
Akira smiles
The transformation has occurred.
Monday
Akira's Introduction
"This boy," Akira commented quietly, "will be crucial. True courage is rare. But he will need much more than muscle to face what lies ahead."
Howard Stark nodded, his eyes wide.
Months later…
Akira discreetly followed Captain America's first missions. Hydra advanced, Johann Schmidt — the Red Skull — released Tesseract-based weapons.
Akira couldn't reveal his entire hand yet, but he manipulated the board patiently:
Verdant distributed supplies directly to the battlefronts, reducing hunger and weakness.
AstraTech supplied Allied laboratories with materials that resisted Hydra's technologies, under the guise of "emergency discoveries."
Akira, acting as a security consultant, created discreet amulets and barriers protecting key Allied installations.
But there was something bigger at stake.
Time Jump — 1945
Captain America's plane has disappeared in the Arctic.
Howard Stark, desperate, tried to coordinate searches. The newspapers mourned the loss of the First Avenger.
In the basement of AstraTech, Akira looked at maps and timelines. His knowledge of the multiverse was absolute. He knew that Steve Rogers would only awaken in the 21st century. It was necessary. The Captain's symbol needed to reappear at the right time.
- That's it
He stood up, calling for new projects:
Development of Verdant Supermarkets:International expansion accelerated. By 1945, Verdant was already established in the USA, the UK, Canada and Brazil. Within five years, Western Europe and Asia would receive subsidiaries.
Secret agreements with Howard Stark:shares exchanged for discreet technology; alliances formed; hidden laboratories shared.
Odin
In the dead of night, in his mansion disguised as Verdant headquarters, Akira received an astral projection from Odin.
— Your footsteps echo beyond this world, young Elf, — the Allfather grumbled. — Be careful not to upset what must be.
Akira, impassive, smiled wryly.
—
Odin snorted and disappeared. Akira resumed his tea.
The Next Century
Akira knew what was coming:
The Awakening of Steve Rogers
The emergence of the Avengers.
Loki and Thanos' invasion on the horizon.
And Aki
He was not a god of Asgard. He was not an enhanced human. He was the forgotten archetype, the one who walks between timelines without belonging to any.
With Verdant and AstraTech dominating their fields, and alliances forged over the decades, Akira set the stage.
The Marvel world was just beginning
