Chapter 40 - The fall of a Demon

"Rasengan!" Danieru shouted as she formed the small blue orb in her hand, Jiraiya watched on with bated breath as she attempted to add a Chakra Nature to her which she'd been attempting since she was released from the hospital. 'Just add Ice Release or Black Lightning, you haven't got the Chakra for the Rasenshuriken so we have to make a work around!' The area grew cold as icicles began to form in the inside the sphere before it exploded into a cloud of mist, "Damn it, I was so close!" Danieru got back up and was about to create another but she spotted a dove flying towards the Hokage Mansion, Jiraiya noticed it as well and signalled for her to follow on. "You're so close to mastering the Rasengan to a point me, Kakashi or Obito couldn't come close to... It's actually quite scary if I'm being honest.." Danieru looked Jiraiya up and down before sighing, "Nah I'm nowhere close, I reckon it'll be Naruto who'll master it for sure!" Jiraiya ruffled her hair and smiled brightly before agreeing, they continued to chat with each other until they reached the Hokage Mansion to find everyone running around on high alert.

"Mōryō has been revived..." Jiraiya immediately went to the frontlines with the other Jounin, Danieru stood there knowing she won't be permitted to go. "I'll be sending Taiyo, Hari, Naruto, Sakura and Fu to escort the Priestess from the Land of Demons to the Land of Swamps... I know it'll be difficult but if you want to go on the Tenchi Bridge mission you need to stay on reserve for me, understood?" Danieru nodded before leaving to the training grounds where a Shadow Clone of Jiraiya was waiting for her, with a nod they began a Taijutsu match to take account for her missing arm. She then went on to practice one handed hand signs, the way she managed this was with Kaeto's help as he had all of Orochimaru's knowledge so Danieru would create a Shadow Clone then exhaust all her Chakra which caused Kaeto to appear. She waited by the gates for her friends, "Word of advice guys... Seeing the future isn't as much a super power as it is a curse..." She tossed a seed over to Taiyo with a smirk before leaving to return to the training grounds.

"Kaioken!" Taiyo rocketed forward through the waterfall blocking the attempt on the Priestess' life, "It's going to be alright now cause we're here to protect you." He made eye contact with Shion as he passed her, taking note of how sad she looked, launched her attacker back. Kusuna stood defiantly until the yells of his teammates grabbed his attention, jumping up he found them out of Chakra and subdued by . Hari looked him in the eye while Sakura helped Naruto and Fu out of the Combination Jutsu, "Eat up idiot!" Kusuna shouted as he controlled Gitai's Dark Chakra Snake towards his mouth, as Gitai transformed he freed his two other teammates who fled with their leader. "Big Bang Attack.." An orb of Chakra hit Gitai in the middle of his back launching him towards Sakura who landed a gut punch which shattered his Earth Release armour freeing him up for an assisted aerial from Fu and Naruto, Gitai's Chakra began to violently erupt dfrom his body. The Priestess Shion walked out onto the balcony just in time to watch Taiyo activate and launch the exploding Shinobi far away from the Manor, he turned to face her as his aura died down taking note of how pale she went as she looked at him with recognision. Hari sat between the two Jinchuriki as they knelt before the Priestess all eyes were on Taiyo as he knelt before the Priestess and smiled, "My name is Taiyo Hyuga, the Jounin leading a joint force of the Hidden Leafs Teams 11 and 7.... We're sorry we couldn't get here quick enough to save more lives." 

"They knew what they were doing, I told them they would die..." Shion announced, her expression remained steadfast and shallow. "You'll die too Taiyo Hyuga, you will be impailed fighting to protect me." Naruto went to shout at her but Taiyo raised his hand and Hari grabbed him, shaking his head.

"Comes with the territory I'm afraid... My eyes allow me full three hundred and sixty degrees as well as through walls, skin... I watched one of my closest friends heart stop and I watched as she restarted it by herself, so if she can do it why can't I." He smiled as he got up to lead his team to a resting area where he spotted a familiar looking dragon statue, "Well that's a good sign, hey Hari?"

Hari smiled before going back into thought, he looked at Sakura before letting out a sigh. "They're using Medical Ninjutsu to forcefully inject Chakra into their systems, similar to how I heal people through my Wood Release but their method is more invasive a lot more hostile... That's why he exploded, his own Chakra mixed with it toxically meaning bye bye bad guy."

"How can you be so calm when someone just told you with complete certainty that you'll die Taiyo, you aren't even a little bit scared?" Fu asked as she played with a piece of thread which sprouted from her finger tip, she weaved her hands until the she created a star pattern in the thread. "I mean, what you said about Danieru was definetly something but she had the Curse Mark and Kaeto to keep her alive... She planned for a Chakra related Death." Taiyo raised his hand as Shion came into the room, she looked around at all of them before focusing in on Taiyo and signalling for him to follow her. "Are you ok with this Hari? He could really die and you're just gonna sit there?" Hari shook his head and smirked as he looked over a scroll, the language wasn't one that either Jinchuriki could read. "Fine, I guess if anyone is stubborn enough to cheat Destiny it's him."

Taiyo looked at Shion as the two of them walked, "It would be smart if we left without them... They'd slow us down considerably, not to mention the risks." Shion agreed as they over looked what was left of her guards gathering supplies for the mission, "Sakura will carry you, she is one of the Leafs best Medical Nin... Hari is in a class of his own thanks to his Kekkei Genkai, Wood Release the same as the first Hokage." Shion's confused expression stopped his explanation, after some back and forth he realised she'd never learnt what a Kekkei Genkai was. "It's abilities passed down through genetics, an example being Hari's Wood Release which is an advanced Nature Release Kekkei Genkai or my Byakugan which is classed as a Dojutsu." He then went on to talk about his encounters with other Kekkei Genkai allowing her the chance to ask questions whenever she wanted to, every now and then he'd throw in a joke to try and get her to smile. "My team will be ready any minute now so please allow me to ask one question, how does your power work?"

Taruho caught up to them which slowed them down considerably until Fu decided to carry him while flying, when they made camp Shion refused to eat the food he prepared for her. Taiyo caught the bowl she had slapped from his hand, "I understand what you're doing Shion... I did a similar thing with my cousin Neji." A small smile appeared on Taiyos's face before grabs the spoon and takes a bite, "So I get it but to waste Taruho's efforts is unnecessarily cruel, if you want it heated up that's fine but you'll have to drop this act of yours understand?" Shion turned her head before blushing slightly, Taruho rejected her apology on the grounds that it wasn't needed. Everyone watched in astonishment as Taiyo began to heat up the food with his Chakra, "There is a constant air of my Chakra around my body, most Hyuga can do it with a little training, I can change the Nature of that Chakra." He smiles knowing that such a feat puts him at a higher level than a large portion of the Hidden Leaf's Shinobi, Shion happily eats the food after it was heated up. When Shion has a vision of her Death Taiyo begins to form a plan with Taruho on how to keep both him and Shion alive. The group waves goodbye to Shions guard before travelling through a valley, "Hari is one of the Leafs strongest Water Release Users he'll be able to counter any atta~" Before Naruto could finish hyping up his friend a Dragon made of water came barrelling towards them.

Hari countered the with his own as they climbed up the valley wall, a bolt of Lightning launched towards them however Taiyo effortlessly swatted it away with his . Hari weaved through several hand signs as a wooden dome surrounded them, "Naruto use Shadow Clones and the transformation Jutsu to make several copies of Sakura and Shion, we don't know if the enemy has any sensory capabilities so Fu you need to fill the area with your Chakra to run interference... I'll take Shion to the shrine alone while you guys take out the enemy, I'm the quickest here as well as in her vision so it has to be me." Naruto burst out the dome in front of his Clones before rushing towards the enemy who began to launch several Water Release Ninjutsu at him, running through hand signs Naruto launched himself straight into the air as he used , "Sakura box 'em in!" Sakura weaved through hand signs creating three to rise around their opponent, blocking her escape. As he landed he pulled out a small vial from his pocket and takes a sip, weaving through hand signs Naruto ignites the oil in his mouth as he uses , when the smoke cleared there was no sign of his opponent.

Hari glared at the Shinobi in front of him, "Why are you going after Shion? How does the revival of a Demon who wants world domination benefit you at all?" As a Shuriken coated in wind Chakra flew passed him Hari couldn't help but sigh, he began to walk forward the shurikens flew around cutting him in various places. As he stepped in front of his opponent he smiled calmly, "Don't move or I'll kill you..." His opponent went to jump back however the cold tip of a kunai stopped him in his tracks, the young Leaf Shinobi's skin returned to bark along side the blood which returnrd to tree sap. "I thought I told you not to move..." An explosion of Chakra grabbed Hari's attention just long enough for his opponent to surround himself in a turrent of wind which snapped Hari's Kunai leading to the young Senju jumping back, Setsuna began to laugh as he launched multiple Wind Release Jutsu towards Hari who had no choice but run behind cover. "Aren't you using up a lot of your Chakra? You still have to chase down Lady Shion right?" Closing his left eye Hari focused on sensing Chakra through the tree roots before stepping out in the open and taking a straight to the chest, Setsuna walked closer to the downed Leaf Shinobi however as he pulled out a Kunai to finish him off a wooden toads head burst up from the ground encasing him and began to drain the remains of his Chakra. "As far as Wind Release users go you're pretty weak, anyways good luck getting out of that." With that Hari jumped away to meet up with the rest of the Squad.

Fu smiled as she looked up at Kusuna, "So the leader decided to say hi to little old me huh?" Flying up to eye level her cheery smile switched to a smirk as Kusuna began to run after the first set of Clones. Fu easily kept up with the leader of the rogue group of Shinobi as she dart between the trees with the use of her wings and , "Come on stop running already! You can't out run me so just give up and let me tie you up!" Kusuna threw a Explosive Kunai which Fu easily countered with a One Tail Cloak, the burst of speed was enough for her to rocket past Kusuna allowing her to land a swift kick to his shoulder as she past him. Kusuna's puppet shattered to the floor taking Fu by suprise, 'crap, he'll be going after one of the Clones... Let's do this Chomei!' A Three Tailed Cloak sprouted more wings increasing Fu's speed however all the Clones were fine which made her realise they knew what they' planned to do. Taiyo sped through the trees watching Kusuna with his Byakugan, "Shion I need you to reach into the pouch around my neck and pull out that seed! I promise not to drop you!" Doing as she was told she pulled the seed out just as Taiyo activated , taking the seed from Shion he poured as much Chakra as he could spare into it before launching it into the ground.

Kusuna launched a Chakra Snake at Taiyo as he slowed down however it froze just before it reached him, "Shion, allow me to introduce you to the final member of Team 11 Danieru Uchiha." The of Danieru jumped up next to them, "I'm sure we'll have chance for a formal meeting later my Lady but right now you two should be going, I'll slow this guy down for as long as this Jutsu has Chakra." Taiyo sped off leaving the Clone to stare down Kusuna who prepared for a fight, "I won't let you past me!" The air grew cold as a thick mist filled the area as Danieru pierced Kusuna's thigh with a shot from her fingertip, "Besides I want to see the rest of my friends that are on this misson." The splinter grew rapidly as it drained the Chakra from its host, thorned branches tied up his arms and pierced through the Chakra Snakes that attempted to free him. Roses bloomed just as Fu arrived, "Did you say you liked Roses? I can't remember." Danieru began to rant as Fu landed next to her, "Anyways the Jutsu will end when this Clone runs out of Chakra so you'd better web him up." Fu sighed before pulling the Clone into a hug.

Shion almost accepted her fate as she fell from Taiyo's back, "DON'T YOU GIVE UP!" A chirp of Lightning made her open her eyes as Taiyo used to catch up to her and take the brunt of the fall for her. She blushed as he re-tied his hair, "Alright... I'll hold thes guys off while you seal this demon, are you ready my Lady?" He smirked before picking her up bridal-style and running up the cliff, "KAIOKEN!" Launching up over the edge Taiyo landed the two of them almost perfectly in front of the entrance, before Shion ran in to where the Seal was located she witnessed Taiyo weave his hands through the air before creating a diamond by connecting his thumbs and index fingers. A small ball of fire launches forward into the mass of stone soldiers, upon contact it erupts into a giant pillar of fire, "Get going Shion, don't worry about me..." Shion nods before running of into the depths of the mountain, her bell launches multiple lasers to protect her from the soldiers which allows her to reach the shrine where Mōryō was waiting for her. Failing to Seal him she turns to face Taiyo as the Demon consumes her, Taiyo activates before rushing forward with his hands surrounded in Chakra. "Come on Shion! Show me where you are so I can save you!" Using to counter the multiple Dark Spears that Mōryō used in attempts to kill him, gritting his teeth he let his guard drop as a spear went to pierce through his stomach.

A bell chimed as a protective shield formed around Taiyo, activating his Byakugan he spotted the growing Chakra as Shion transformed into her angelic form. Running at full speed Taiyo ran straight towards the light source, the Chakra surrounding his hands morphing, diving straight into the crack in Mōryō's form he grabbed Shion's hand. "YOU IDIOT, DO YOU REALLY PLAN ON DYING HERE? I HATE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT YOUR LIFE ISN'T YOUR OWN ANYMORE!" Taiyo's Chakra morphed into two wolf heads, "THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR YOU! THE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT YOU! WILL YOU TRULY ABANDON THEM!" The wolf heads grew in size as Taiyo activated to pull Shion free, "I... I want to live..." Shion choked out, Taiyo smiled as he held the bell in his hand. "Then let's kick this Demons ass!" Combining their Chakra Taiyo's normal turned a majestic pink colour, Shion's eyes sparkled as she saw the genuine smile on Taiyo's face as the beam hit Mōryō and pierced straight through him into the Earth. As Lava began to burst up around them Taiyo covered Shion, "Damn you really did it this time Taiyo.." Obito whistled as he appeared next to them, taking his hand all three of them were pulled into the Kamui Dimension.

Reappearing on a mountain with everyone else who had arrived to clear out the stone soldiers Shion and Taiyo walked forward to watch the Volcano they created erupt, "I saw you in there Taiyo, the real you, you're a warrior at heart." She turned to face him, "Mōryō was a Demon created from the hate of Mankind, there is a chance he will be revived... My power as the Priestess will need to be passed down to the next generation, would you help me with that?" Everybodies jaws dropped, Jiraiya looked over at Hari who was shaking with contained laughter at the look on Taiyo's face. "O... Of course I will S.. Shion..." The Heir to the Hyuga Family stuttered out before taking a deep breath, "One condition though, you have to move to the Hidden Leaf where I can protect you." Shion blushed slightly before pulling him into a hug, Taiyo hesitantly returned it. The journey back to the Hidden Leaf was Hell for Taiyo as Hari and Obito teased him relentlessly until Rin gave them both a look which shut them up immediately, Tsunade and Danieru greeted them at the gate. "I do apologise for meeting you through a Wood Clone Shion, I am Danieru Uchiha." She stood there awkwardly before blushing from embarrassment and raising her hand to shake Shion's, "Sorry... still getting used to the whole one arm thing." She chuckled nervously before walking away to plant her head against a wall.

"Father... This is Lady Shion, the Priestess from the Land of Demons and h.. her protection has been tasked to the Hyuga Clan." Taiyo stood between Shion and his Father Hisashi Hyuga, the head of the Hyuga Clan looked from his son to the girl standing behind him. Hinata walked over giving Shion a kind greeting and showing her to a room that'll be made up for her as soon as possible. "I don't approve of this my son... Her powers could effect the Byakugan in unforseen ways.." Taiyo's eyes narrowed as he leant back against the wall, Hisashi looked down before sighing, "Taiyo as the future Head of the Family you need to realise that your life is not your own but that of the family's future." Taiyo went to walk away but noticed Shion standing at the door, her face was twisted with anger. "Lady Shion I do apologise, that conversation wasn't for you to hear." She stormed over to Taiyo and grabbed his hand, dragging him out of there until they where far away from the Hyuga's residence. She then asked a simple question, when Taiyo answered with a nod she began to cry for him. 

"He's gotten better recently but he still tries to force his ideals on to me, Hinata and Hanabi..." Taiyo explained as they continued to walk aimlessly through the village together, "And don't get me started on how the branch family is treated, when I told you I tried to push Neji away it was to protect him from the pain the Bird Cage Seal deals when activated..." Shions eyes widen in disbelief as he explains the Jutsu to her, they end up reaching a training ground devoid of people. "If you've changed your mind about me I get it... I don't blame you at all but I'd still like to help you train your powers as the Priestess if you'd let me..." A slap on the top of his head snaps Taiyo back to reality, Shion looked at him with nothing but admiration in her eyes before leaning up to lightly place her lips on his cheek, "Don't be silly Taiyo Hyuga, your life isn't your own after all... It belongs to the people who care about you after all~" Returning to the Hyuga Residence Shion stood before Hisashi Hyuga, "Apologise to him, he may be a powerful Shinobi as well as the Heir to your Clan but he is also your fifteen year old son!" Hisashi looked away too embarrassed to be called out by a fifteen year old girl, "Fine don't then, but I will be staying here and will be making Taiyo mine so you'd better get used to that idea!" Taiyo's face turned beet red as his Father registered what she had just said, Shion bowed respectfully before leaving the room with a devilish grin on her face.
