"Seriously, the fight is already over just like that." I said, narrowing my eyes at Logan's body as it started turning into light.
However, just as Zagan was about to walk away, a bullet shot him backwards, separating him from Logan's body. Not the one he just "killed," but the one standing to the side that I hadn't even noticed until now.
"Hahaha, did you really think I would lose that easily?" Logan yelled, laughing at the surprised Zagan. However, Zagan's surprise quickly faded when he shot dark mana orbs at Logan.
'Hmm, what just happened?' I thought, glancing at Kayda, seeing that even she had narrowed her eyes at the situation.
"They said he had a buff class, right?" I asked, not understanding how Logan survived that attack.
"That is what we presume, seeing his actions in the battle royal a few days ago." Kayda said, looking up at me.
"I see, then it might be that." I stopped short of finishing my sentence because I didn't want to say it out loud.
"Might be what?" Kayda asked, annoyed.
"He's not just casting buffs—he's running them on himself. Constantly." I simply stated.
"That's a lot of mana usage." Kayda noted with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes, but you can train mana and get skills to boost your mana efficiency. That's not that hard; even I have one." I explained, knowing that this Logan kid was definitely also a reincarnation.
With the sort of games we had on earth, there were multiple ways to do things, and there were just more novel books or fanfictions about cool powers and cheats.
Logan just implemented it in this world, most likely. However, he is not the only one doing this; the twins in the royal family are also implementing similar strategies. I am doing it on a few things at the moment, though I don't need to worry about mana at all.
"Are you saying he is able to keep buffs on himself with a small amount of mana usage?" Kayda said, Not surprised by this at all.
"Yeah, it's not that surprising. The twins do the same when they work on their projects."
"They indeed do." Kayda said, nodding after remembering about their month-long project a while back.
"Hopefully they never make it public. It will only disrupt daily life. Ugh, that sounds so bad." I said, grimacing at how that sounded out loud.
"Hmm, so you're saying our world has been using skill wrongly?" Kayda said thoughtfully.
"No, you just didn't think of using it in other ways. But with time comes change. However, I am still frustrated with you. Let's just watch this fight." I said she was making shit up.
As I refocused on the fight, I caught a glimpse of Zagan being sent flying again. Once more, Zagan was unable to get through Logan's defenses.
Standing straight, Zagan glared at Logan, his arrogant expression directed toward him.
Grinning at Zagan, he started talking. Not a strong no, just walking. This demonstrates just how arrogant Logan truly is.
"Hey, teacher, you seem out of your depth here. Why don't you surrender?" Logan said this while giving Zagan a knowing smile.
"So you really are one of my kids." Zagan said, making me cringe.
"Pah, your kids? Since when have I been part of your kids?" Logan shouted with more venom than I thought was justified.
After hearing Logan's words, Zagan looked down and simply shook his head.
"I heard that Shiro guy got genderbent just like you. If I recall correctly, his name now is Kitsuna? She must be a sexy, busty chick, seeing as so many people talk about her looks."
Hearing him talking about my looks, Zagan raised an eyebrow at him.
"Hahah, that fox is no looker, sadly for you, and also she is already taken." Zagan explained, waving the blond off.
"Gross, I don't want anything to do with some fox woman." Logan said, spitting on the ground, but everyone could see he was more disappointed than disgusted.
'Bruh, seriously,' I thought, actually disgusted about what I just heard.
"Oh, you looked like you might have fallen in love with her or something. I must warn you, her wifey is very possessive and not someone that you can piss off," Zagan said with a laugh.
"Hey, I am not that possessive!!" Kayda suddenly yelled with a tomato face, surprising me.
"That was loud." I muttered, making Kayda look at me even more worriedly, or well, at my ears.
"Sorry, are you okay?" Kayda said, holding my head in worry.
"Yes, I should be fine." I said, pushing her off me, wanting to watch the match.
"Pah, like I care." Logan said, holding out his hand again. A dozen light spells shot at Zagan, something he dodged with ease.
"He really seems to be back to his usual self, doesn't he? Amari must be happy." I noted how Zagan was moving about.
"She probably is." Kayda said, agreeing.
As Zagan dodged the spell, he gained more and more ground on Logan.
"It's a trap." I said, sighing, We did think Zagan wasn't Logan's opponent, but this was still quite a surprise.
As Zagan got a few feet away from Logan and ready to attack him. Multiple light lances suddenly impaled Zagan from all angles.
"Oh, that's got to hurt." I muttered, knowing that it didn't kill him, missing all his vitals.
Logan grinned at Zagan as he strolled forward—not with power, just confidence. The arrogance was practically oozing off him.
"Tsk, tsk, teach, you really are pathetic. If it weren't for the Draigs getting you into this fight, you wouldn't even have gotten this far." Logan said as he grabbed Zagan's slack head by the hair, pulling it up and getting a grunt from Zagan.
"Oh, sorry, did that hurt?" Logan said, slowly clapping Zagan's face.
While Logan was slowly tapping Zagan's face, Zagan suddenly grinned and slashed his arm upward, cutting Logan's face in half; however, as expected, it healed instantly. But healing is just that good; it also doesn't take the pain away.
"Agh, bitch." Logan grunted in annoyance, letting go of Zagan's head.
"How long ago did the barrier reverse?" I asked Kayda, standing up again.
"Quite some time, why?"
"Hmm, I see." I said, stepping forward, I teleported right next to Logan and Zagan.
"Zagan is surrendering, so good job, you won." I said this while appearing in front of Logan with my right hand extended toward him.
"What! No, he doesn't. Who the hell are you even?" Logan yelled, glaring up at me.
"Shiro." I started looking down at him with a neutral face.
"What, you seriously got genderbent and turned into one hot-ass chick?" Logan said, looking me over, making me glare at him.
"Hmm, as Zagan said, I am taken, not sorry, and I really don't want a jealous dragon on my hands, not that I will ever think of being with a man, as the idea itself makes me want to commit suicide. So please, as the fight is over, can you leave the arena, as Zagan will need some healing?" I said as I gestured to him at the door, and he walked in.
"Heh," scoffing, he turned around, walking away. Seeing him do that, I slapped the light spells still impaling Zagan, destroying them and making Zagan's body drop to the floor, making him grin in pain again.
"Was that needed, Kitsuna?" Zagan asked with a bitter laugh.
"You made Amari cry for two days." I stated just as I felt multiple spells heading at my back.
"Sigh, seriously." I casually turned around, extended my hand, and released a wave of mana that canceled all the spells Logan had sent at us.
Looking at Logan again, I made a handgun aim at him.
'I can't just end it here.' I thought I saw a white figure run at us, or, well, at Logan.
After waiting a few seconds, the white figure positioned itself in front of Logan to shield him.
"Sorry, ma'am, he is just a child with a temperament." The angel said, shielding Logan behind him.
"You do realize what he just did, right?" I said, glaring at them.
'He seems to be a captain of the angel guards?' I thought I saw a lot of stripes on his shoulder.
"Yes, and I would like to take his punishment instead of him; he is but just a child after all." The angel spoke without any hint of apology in his voice.
"Hey Morg, don't say shit like that." Logan said, trying to push the guy away in front of him.
"I see. Are you sure you want to take his punishment?"
"Yes—bang! - AUGH!!!!" As he shouted in pain, the angel's eyes and mouth ignited, causing him to scream in agonizing pain for a few seconds before he collapsed to the floor, breathing softly.
"What did you do?!" Logan yelled, looking down worriedly at the guy.
"Nothing much; he should wake up in a few hours." I said, walking up to him and looking down at him again.
"And don't think this barrier will be of any help." I said, grinning at the confused Logan, before walking away with a partially healed Zagan.
"I owe you a big one, Zagan; thanks to you, I have tested my new bullet." I said with a laugh.
"What?" Zagan muttered, not knowing what I was talking about.
