Big Ross chewed and swallowed a somewhat hard black bean, then continued talking to his brother Little Ross and Talan: "Raymond's decision is hard for many to understand. After all, he worked quite a while at the Shambhala Mine, where he had connections and relationships. Leaving Shambhala to come to Shalin is almost like starting from scratch. It doesn't seem wise.
But I think that's precisely Raymond's strength. The Shambhala Mine is indeed great, having started construction a long time ago. Its facilities are much better than those at this rundown place, Shalin. But for this very reason, relationships at Shambhala Mine are too complicated. Too many people—lots at the bottom and lots at the top, connections intertwined, abilities overlapping, making promotions particularly difficult.
