A vase dropped and Smashed into pieces. The Duke went to the source of the sound until he found the broken vase. "Okay, Who is the wise guy who made this mess?" Shouted The Duke. All the maids came to the main hall to investigate why The Duke was yelling. They saw that the vase was broken. Then they thought the unthinkable. All the maids blamed Evie. Evie looked at them then at The Duke. "Is this true, Miss.Evie?" Asked The Duke. She was silent for a minute. Then she bowed and said "Yes. It was my fault. I am very sorry, Duke. Please forgive me." The Duke was silent for a moment. "Miss. Evie. Stop bowing and Come next to me." Asked The Duke. Evie stopped bowing and Stood by his side and was facing the other maids who were smirking at their deed. "I will ask again. Who broke the vase?" Asked The Duke. Then all the maids turned to The Duke in confusion. "B-But Evie already admitted it was her mistake." Said one maid. "Yes. But what I remember correctly, She was with Aspire going over the guest list and tending to the tables in the meeting room. Isn't that correct, Aspire?" Said The Duke. "Yes, Sire, Miss. Evie was with me the entire time before we heard the vase fell." Said Aspire. Which was true. Evie was helping Aspire in the meeting which was farther away from the vase that was near the ball room hallway. "Now. Who has the guts to admit there mistake or do I need to rip off a head to get the truth? And No blaming others, this time." Said The Duke. Everyone was looking at each other then one maid came forward and admitted to breaking it. "Thank you for admitting it but Now, Clean this up and apologize to Miss. Evie." Said The Duke. "Why must I apologize to that pile of trash. She's just a warden suck up." Said the maid. Evie looked at her with no emotion and nodded her head. The Duke was about to reply to her comment but Evie stopped him. "Let me, Sire" Said Evie in a sweet tone. "Yeah, Right, What are you going to do, Little Bitch?" Said the maid. Evie got closer to her and Smiled. Then she grabbed her shoulders and hit her stomach with her knee as hard as she could. Evie then gave her a good left hook to the face until she was on the ground sobbing a little. Everyone and Including The Duke was surprised at her actions. Evie picked her head up by pulling her hair and said "If you wish to keep your life, I suggest you do the work properly and not try to blame others for your incompetence and stupidity. Got it?" Said Evie in a dark tone. The maid just simply nodded her head while still sobbing silently in pain. "Good." Said Evie. Then shoved her head on the ground as she was already struggling to get up. "Now, Does anyone else have something to say to me? If you do, Please speak now. You may or may not lose your life if you do." Said Evie in a nice and calm voice. The other maids were trembling in fear and shook their heads "No" as a reply. Since they were very terrified to speak a word. "Alright then, Let us get back to work shall we?" Said Evie as she walked off to attend to her duties with the other maids doing the same and quickly I might add. It was now officially. Evie is a very scary and terrifying person to be around when provoked. "Seriously, Aspire, Make sure no one and I mean NO ONE makes Evie mad. Cause I don't want a murder to happen in my castle." Said The Duke. "Duly Noted, Sire. I never thought someone so small and sweet can end up being so aggressive and hostile when agitated." Said Aspire.
As Evie was walking off with a sweet smile doing her duties, she stopped and thought for a moment. "Something is off." She said. "Why was The Duke defending me? He is mean and cruel and doesn't know mercy for no mortal soul. So… What made him change? Why am I so special?" She thought.
