Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Monarch descend

My expectations were completely devoid just now, my worries about ghosts, phantoms and razes are quite off as the enemies that have popped out here at the 12th floor are....

[They're robots....] specifically they are golems...with flamethrowers. Dealing with them would require stealth and surprise attacks. That is why i am currently on CLOAK right now.

Deploying a holo-pilot decoy, the said flamethrower golem suddenly detects it and....spews flame from its flame thrower. As i was observing the battle style, it seems their flame throwers are one time use only since the intensity of the flame earlier was strong, after some 5 seconds the fire died down, trying to deploy a holo-pilot again, the golem only tackles at it and punched the decoy to death.

[That is amusing, from ranged to close combat fighting... that sure is like a grunt or a reaper from the game] grunts are usually dummy players, aka bots with little to know how much hp those guys have. Reapers however are something to not take lightly, those can hurt a titan's chassis depending on the frequency and location of their plasma attacks.

Most of the time from the game, I would deploy a tick on those and detonate it nicely. *sigh* how i miss using my Xbox controller back then.

But...I cannot contain the excitement in my heart as i can now fight a robot looking opponent.....gripping the L-Star, i had it attached with a holo-sight for improved accuracy for some good design since i had no way of customizing its painted appearance.

Undoing Cloak, i unleashed a hell of bullets at the Flamethrower golem and subdued it, leaving me behind a red colored flame attribute monster core. Sweet.

I appraised the core and it seems that if imbued on a weapon, it will deal a burning or a flame imbued attack depending on the type of weapon used. If this was to be put on the L-Star, it would be completely useless since the L-Star is an energy based LMG....so it is pointlessly, so i stored it for now...it will probably have its use in the future.

For an hour, i was exploring the entirety of the 12th floor and obtained various treasures, some monster cores, and some few useful items that will probably help me sooner or later.

I also had the PD-1–5 scout the entirety of the 12th floor to check for any missed treasure chest or hidden rooms. In which was found to be none, so i had them return to me and got stored afterwards.

This only means that i need to proceed to the next floor. So i had the tick go to the East to see if the stairs are exactly there...yep there it is, it still followed the same pattern if being found. I wonder, shouldn't stairs something that must be searched thoroughly, i felt like whoever made this dungeon gut lazy so he/she set the staircase to be found in a clockwise manner, but it is surely convenient for me.

Moving aside, i already have a guess as to what kind sub-boss i am going to face on the 15th floor. It is probably still be some sort of robot or golem.

[I should change my weapon] taking out the R-6P Soft ball AAGL, i replaced the L-Star with it. It was a splendidly designed grenade launcher that shoots small explosive anti-armor projectiles that can damage anything within a 1 meter radius.

[It is nice...] attaching any sights would be useless for this since the projectiles would do a parabolic path upon being fired.

*Booom! *Booom!*

The explosive level for this is similar to that of a fragmentation grenade, but it is a contact type explosive that only explodes upon being hit by a hard surface, hence it is useful against these golems since they look metallic enough to be considered hard.

A cave spider then attacks....but for naught, as a projectile grenade approaches its direction.

*Booooom!*

What was left was its splattered disintegrating body and its poison attribute monster core. The spider became a target test for soft bodied individuals just in case i fired it unto one of them, including humans.

As usual, climbing to the 14th floor became easy since i have been firing butt plugs on any enemy that i see, i feel sorry for them not being able to fight back because i would always use CLOAK upon after killing one enemy.

Proceeding to do the usual carnage...countless explosions have echoed at the 14th floor as I explored it. The frequency of enemies have also fall down since i am now just a floor below the sub-boss room. Technically, the monsters here have also increased in strength, the flamethrower golems can now spew 3 times their original firing quantity, the cave spiders have also improved ad they can now set sticky web traps.

A new enemy also showed up, it was a golem that can conjure a lightning bolt every 5 minutes. According to APPRAISAL, it is called Arc Golem, a lightning attribute golem. They...are so weak in terms of their body integrity as i can see a few weak points between its joints, that compensates for their ability to fire a lightning bolt.

*Booommmm!!!!*

Nonetheless, it died with a shot from the R-6P Softball AAGL.

[Phew~ i am now near the 15th floor] walking towards the south where i can find the stairs going up the said floor.

Now that i have noticed it, haven't i only been using my pilot abilities? I have completely forgotten about the usage of magic.... nor i have acquired a new magic attribute. Nah, let's do that as soon as i finish exploring this dungeon.

Setting foot at the 15th floor gave me chills on my back as i can hear some rumbling behind the huge double door entrance towards the sub-boss's room. Outside the door was a hieroglyph of a huge robot like bulldozer shooting lightning and had a drill hand.

[Somehow...aren't the floors from 11–15th somewhat cyberpunk-ish?] i have seen those sci-fi movies that deals with cyberpunks, robots and future technology that always shows the said robots. This one in front of me was the same as i can see some reference back then at the design found in this hieroglyph.

Seems like I'll use one of them again, *Fuu—u* i hope this goes well too.

{Brace for TitanFall—} the usual monotonous robotic voice resounded in my head again. The usual black hole opening on the ceiling and the huge mass of metal falling from it.

*Dokun!*

[Board up, pilot](Monarch)

Red painted chassis imbued with gray and black designs, a huge frame with a height exceeding 10 meters and a huge rapid firing weapon called the Xo16A2 Chain gun.

I then rode on him and entered its chassis. A message then came to me.

[Choose core upgrades for tier 1, 2 and 3 upgrade core—](Monarch)

A panel then popped up showing me three choices:

•Arc Rounds

•Missile rack

•Energy Transfer

Hoo.....this is strange, shouldn't it be the 1st tier only? Why did i also  have to choose at the 2nd and the last tier core upgrades? This must be because of being transferred here...isn't it. Well at least i need to provide survivability over offensive part so i chose these 3:

•Arc Rounds

•Rearm and Reload

•Superior Chassis

Thus the Monarch's integrity and survival is now heightened. I would like to have all upgrades but greediness has a limit. Three is only the limit, but hey, each and every time i summon Monarch i will have to pick the upgrades...so it is still manageable.

Some few clicks and seconds... Monarch's core upgrade set is now online.

I notice it since the core skill did not have a percentage bar since the upgrades are already there. I then tested his abilities.

First was the ordnance skill Rocket Salvo, it fires 5 unguided rocket swarm to a designated target. Next is the tactical skill Rearm, as the name suggests it refreshes the cool down of dash, ordnance and defensive skills. 3rd is the defensive skill Energy Siphon, it slows enemy and generates a shield for Monarch upon hit, the heavier and the more armor the enemy has, the more shield the skill can generate. Last is the core ability Upgrade Core, it recharges all 3 abilities and the titan's shield.....the core ability is already rendered useless since the core was already active from the start.

[This feels like cheating on the game...] i remembered back then that if you got caught cheating, you can only play on a server full of cheaters which is fun to do... not until you want to play some good and fine gameplay.

Pushing the giant double door using Monarch's strength, it opened with ease. What greeted me was the object found on the hieroglyphs....it was a robot no...a giant drilled arm golem.

[Enemy detected!—commencing execution procedure—](??) a very deep and monotonous voice resounded from it, its core then powers up with a *Rrrrrrrroooooyyyyyy* sound

[Detecting hostile enemy, pilot](Monarch)

[Hohohoho, this will be a good fight—] readying the X016A2, all is lock'n'loaded.
