She walked over to him and buried her head into his chest.
Julian Rhodes was still holding some documents. Looking at her in his arms, he said, "You've found out about Vivian Bell."
"Why did you hide it from me?" Scarlett Xavier asked, "You all knew, but I was left completely in the dark. Violet Reeves came, and I treated her as a friend."
Julian said, "I was afraid you'd lose control or be upset if you knew."
Scarlett hugged him without saying a word.
Julian reached out and gently stroked her hair, "There, there, don't think about it."
"Vivian didn't reply to my message."
"It's so late; she must be asleep."
"Do you think she might hate me?" Scarlett asked, "She must hate me a lot."
Julian said, "No way. I'll go with you to see her tomorrow. Let's get some sleep first!"

While reading the documents, he gently patted her shoulder. After a while, she fell asleep on his lap.
