Uncle Monroe raised his hand, ready to slap Jonah Morgan.
Jonah Morgan didn't even flinch; he just looked at his father.
He was now taller than his father, and because he resembled his mother and not at all like his father, they didn't look alike at all.
He stared at Uncle Monroe, the corners of his mouth curving into a smile. "What, want to hit me again?"
Before Jonah Morgan ran away from home, he was slapped by his father, and since then, he had never been back.
Uncle Monroe looked at him this way, just feeling a headache.
The slap ultimately didn't fall.
He lowered his hand, looking at Jonah Morgan with a mixture of helplessness and disappointment, while Joyce Leighton, standing beside him, looked at him with concern, "Old Monroe."
