Zyron's Pov
After Xavier had left the room, it was so still that you could almost hear the ceiling speak. However, it was still his words that were very vivid and energetic in my mind running through it; they were not only sharp and heavy but as if they carried more weight than just those of the older brother's warning.
"Don't you dare hurt my sister again, Zyron. If you do, forget we were ever friends."
I had no comeback for him. The thing is he was right, in the deepest part of my soul. I was splitting my time between Savannah and Trixy, showering Savannah with the attention she craved desperately, while Trixy was just left to starve emotionally. And it wasn't fair of her to be like that.
I took a deep breath, combing my hair with my fingers and then I opened the door again by pushing it.
This room was only filled with the fragile breathing of Smokey. The little Shih Tzu was kinked at the foot of the bed, as faithful as ever, seeming to be watching over Trixy while she slept.
