The Mystery Man Pov
Tok. Tok.
"Come in."
The heavy oak door opened with a creak, its hinges murmuring quietly in the noiseless, dim office. The soft light from the aquarium in the corner of the room changed colors with the water's movement and painted the room with different shades of blue and green. That water was gently rippling, and a snake that was partly submerged with a branch was lying free, its glowing golden eyed watching beneath the fluorescent light.
Respectfully the man who came in lowered his eyes and said in a quiet voice, "Señior, things have gone well. She acted according to the plan. He went on with the plan."
