Trixy's Pov
The following day, my entire family were driven in the van along the seaside road to Austen's Resort. The sun was just coming up over the ocean, and the horizon looked like it was made of molten gold.
That day inside the van was quite warm and very calm. Dad was sitting on the passengers side next to Momma; he had their fingers intertwined in that manner that always melted my heart. They looked so serene like they had perfected the art of not letting their bubble of love get touched by the outside world.
I was with my brothers and sat with my back to the van, pressed up against the window. The glass was cool at my temple as I rested my head on it and looked out at the trees and houses passing by in a blur. Zac had his sunglasses on and was looking like he was asleep with his head tilted a bit - but I saw that the way his jaw moved told that he was not really in a deep sleep. Xavier, however, had his headphones in and his eyes closed, he was probably very relaxed.
