Emery stepped out of the Supreme hall with a new weight resting in his palm.
It was a dark metallic badge, simple in shape yet carved with intricate sigils that shimmered faintly when touched by spiritual energy. The mark of the Stellar Beast Emperor.
Moments ago, he had been a candidate. Now he carried a status that placed him even higher than the Beast Union elites—a disciple to the Supreme Emperor.
Waiting for him outside stood the dragon hybrid Supreme who had conducted the blood test. His expression was no longer stern or scrutinizing. There was an ease to him now, a shift in tone that mirrored Emery's change in position.
"You may call me Senior Xernas," the Supreme said.
Emery hesitated.
To address a Supreme as "Senior" rather than "Elder" bordered on impropriety. The difference in realm alone demanded formality.
Xernas seemed to read the hesitation.
"You are now my Master's disciple," he clarified. "Calling me Senior is appropriate."
