Avalon wakes up the next day checking on Marcello when Sandel tells her what she found, she gos on with her day having a meeting at Shepered as Blake makes planes to meet with Ceth and Lenn
Sandel came back to Avalon on top of Damien's shoulder as they stopped at the door Damien glanced at Sandel, he felt her flame on his shoulder moving down his arm to his leg before she flopped onto the floor, her flame moving up staring at him,
"Damien, you should get some rest before it's too late,"
Damien looked down at her sincerely as he opened the door for Sandel, he glanced into the room as he saw Avalon resting with her back towards them and Luke, who seemed to be starting to wake up. Damien peered down at Sandel as he said,
"I wouldn't worry about me Sandel...i have much more to worry about than me,"
"Damien, I know the situation we are in is dire; however, your health is still vital."
Sandel told him as she stared up at him and spoke softly for only him to hear, as Luke started to wake up groggy but awake. He tried to stare at them but couldn't,
"Damien, you can't always be the strong one for them... you have to be strong enough to admit that and help yourself,"
Sandel went to Avalon's sleeping form, leaving Damien with the words that struck his heart. He watched Sandel rush to Avalon as he thought,
"She saw right through me, striking where it lay in my head, hidden from most but seen by her,"
Damien almost glared at her but didn't; he didn't think Sandel would see that from him. He would know what guilt he felt. he watched Sandel sit on Avalon's shoulder as he wondered about Ally. She knew how he felt like clockwork. Just by seeing him, she knew that was wrong. Damien didn't notice the faint smile on his face, didn't notice that Luke was walking up to him until Luke said,
"Let's go home before we are called in for work."
Damien's gaze went to Luke, who was stretching with a happy but worried look in his eyes, Damien huffed as he moved his injured shoulder, saying,
"We can't leave Marcell..."
Sandel interrupted Damien as she told them both, her fire burning over Avalon like a protective shield over her body,
"Luke, Damien, I will watch over them for now; you two will need all the rest you can get."
Her voice was ominous, and something unerring lingered. Luke shivered from it as he glanced at her. he felt her words resonate with him, but with Damein, he saw him stiffen from her words. Damein nods as he curls his fist into his side till it turns white. He doesn't want to leave Marcello. He looked at Sandel as his eyes shone. He trusted her, but he wouldn't leave until he asked,
"Sandel, you would watch over him?"
"Yes, I will if it makes you two go rest and prepare,"
Her words resonated with them as Luke grabbed Damien by the arm as he glanced at Sandel as Damien still tried to stay there but couldn't, Luke pushed him away from the door as Luke told Sandel
"I will take him home and make sure he gets some rest."
Luke pushed Damein out gently. He saw Sandel cover the bed, moving around Avalon. Luke smiled at her as both Sandel and Damein heard him say,
"And Sandel, thanks for helping us... helping her,"
He shut the door behind him as Sandel took in what Luke told her, feeling an immense sense of reverence, she curled and warmed around Avalon as she watched her sleep, seeing into her dreams, Avalon held herself in a next to Marcello talking in the car as she laughed with him Sandel smiled as she sent into her, protecting her soul and body,
when they rested, Blake looked on from Peter he saw what Sandel showed them. He glared at Peter as he moved around his shoulder, Blake glared at Peter and said,
"You hurt her with that, Peter."
Peter formed his arms around his shoulders, he formed into his old body, his hair fell onto his shoulders, and Peter's eyes grew a bright blue as he looked at Blake with a grin,
"Hurt her, my old master, yes, I have, but it would have happened in any other universe, in any other time it would had the same conclusion, Me having the power I always wanted, but the angel that I wanted always on the other path,"
Blake listened to understand his sentiment. The love and passion they held for them is one that has them both on the same path but away from them. Blake scoffed as he took a moment to wonder, Is it he that made his obsession towards Avalon so strong? Did his former love help him gain feelings for Avalon? Blake peered over at Peter, looking into his eyes for the first time, and asked,
"So that's why I'm addi... I was addicted to her,"
"You can say it was Blake, but she's a drug you nor I can get rid of, can't find a cure for. Can't find help in another human, but her,"
Peter told him, flicking a bit of Blake's hair around his finger as he glanced at his master, his host. Seeing him glare at him made a shiver fall down his spine as he grinned at Blake, pointing to his heart,
"We made that decision, Blake, to care for them. More than they could recognize at that time,"
Peter remembered the burning gaze Sandel had that day, her lips in a constant frown. He huffed as he saw Blake glaring out into the skyline. His eyes seemed to glow like his, red when angered and blue when saddened, just like a mood ring. Peter watched as Blake muttered,
"Then is she dead to you?"
Peter stopped himself from shaking. he thought that once she was dead to him but after time and seeing her again, better than the last he had seen her. But over the years, seeing her anger hasn't let up or changed. That he understood for a little time, Peter glanced at Blake,
"At one time in my life, yes, but after centuries went by i softened, only a little as time went on...no she isn't dead to me, but what we had will never come back...i will never have her with me,"
Peter told Blake, seeing the expression on Blake, he seemed to have agreed with her, even after Avalon hurt him...wait, there it was the grudge, Peter sighed as he knew that it would take time to move past that petty grudge.
"Look, Blake,"
Blake glared at him when he said that. Peter raised his hand, mockingly moved them side to side in surrender, as he mockingly put it,
"I mean, Master, you have to let that petty grudge go if you dream to take over the city ruling over it like a king leaving you left you in the dust of what laid there, but to do that you must let it go...look where it has lead you so far,"
He pointed out to the city as it glowed to life. The bustling noise could be heard by those who wanted to hear it. Blake leaned back, peering at Peter as he continued,
"So far, this grudge you have has brought you death, Blake. If it wasn't for me and your will to live... you would still be up there with him upstairs."
Blake's head shot at Peter, the look of intrigue and frustration, as Peter flinched, moved away from Blake
"What do you mean by the man upstairs?"
Peter scoffed as he pointed a the shy and said, "I mean God. Master, what are you dense?"
Blake shifted to Peter, his eyes glowing red. Peter smiled at him as he went back to being his shadow, as he wrapped around Blake, muttering,
"Master, you need to take back feedback, whether it be good or..."
Blake scoffed, moving his hand through Peter, making him shiver. Moving away from him, Peter slithered on the ground as he muttered,
"This is tough, behind under a boot of a man who thinks he's a fucking god, hunting down a goddess,"
When Peter said that Blake walked to him, stepping on him as Peter fled from his sharply dressed shoes as he scoffed,
"You can't take bad new much less spitful words,"
