Keith led me toward the refreshment table, but we didn't make it far before we ran into someone else already there.
"Well, look who finally made an appearance."
Dylan turned just in time to see us approaching, drink in hand, flashing that same easy grin.
His eyes lit up. "Oh, it's the couple that caused a stir the moment they walked in."
"I thought you were gonna stay a phantom forever."
"Yeah, well." Dylan shrugged. "The stars aligned. And there were rumors of free mini cheesecakes."
They dapped each other up and slipped into a quick back-and-forth of casual teasing. I stood slightly off to the side, watching them interact. It was weirdly nice. Keith wasn't exactly the type to get along with everyone, while Dylan could charm a rock.
"So," Dylan said after a beat, turning his eyes to me, "Wynter. Long time no see. You look good."
I blinked. "Thanks…?"
He smirked. "Didn't think I'd see you in a dress. Not unless you were threatening someone with stilettos."
