Mei Yue'er chuckled: "The condition on my soul contract is I am not going to do anything that I myself consider an act of treason toward Sparrow Lord. And I, to the best of my ability, help Sikong Clan become the ruler of this city as smoothly as possible.
"Sikong Clan has already become the ruler of the city. Killing you won't change the situation by much, so I won't be violating the second term. As for the first condition, I myself consider it an act of treason toward Sparrow Lord if I don't rid him of an impertinent son such as yourself."
"You!" Sikong Jian became angry as he could not find a word to retort: "Father, why don't you add the condition so that they will obey me too?"
He had come to enjoy their humiliation. Instead, Yue'er was calmly explaining why striking at him need not cost her life, and her father had made his own position just as plain. Neither seemed frightened by Sikong Jian's appeal to the man at the desk.
