This was the first time he had heard that the tribe also had ranks and their importance. Axel could not train his Pokemon to reach pseudo-champion rank or champion rank in a year, but he could train all of his Pokemon to reach king rank in a year. This was the best he could do.
But he started to doubt his estimations when he saw Pawniard fully healed in two days. The wound would have taken at least a month to properly heal but now Pawniard was stretching its body and taking out the bandages as if it was ready to train.
Was it due to the environmental effect, or was this due to an unknown medicine provided by the Bisharp tribe? Axel had to know.
He went on and asked the leader, Gorn, about it, and after describing the wound, Gorn said that it would take around 20 days to heal completely.
'So, it means it was due to the Bisharp tribe. Maybe, they were a nightmare-ranked clan in the past. I should make a good connection with that tribe, thought Axel.

After discussing with the leader, Axel learned how to evolve Primeape into Annihilape.
"The first thing that you need to do is evolve your ability 'Vital spirit' so that you could not only handle your excess anger but also manipulate it.", said Axel.
For this, the only Annihilape was going to help Garry. For the longest time, Axel thought that a Primeape would somehow learn 'Rage fist' and then it would use this move repeatedly to the point that its anger transcends its whole body, and then it would evolve.
But he was thinking it the wrong way. First, a Primeape would have to master its ability 'Vital Spirit' and guide its rage to learn 'Rage fist', and after mastering the move to a certain level, it would evolve to Annihilape.

Currently, Axel was looking at five Primeapes that he had promised to train. There were two of them who were sword wielders, while three of them were spear wielders.
"The first thing you need to learn is how to control your ability 'Vital spirit'. So, you will first learn the move 'Focus energy'..."
Axel knew how to train that ability. He had done it before. So, when Garry was training with Annihilape, Axel was teaching them on 'Vital spirit'. After the training was over, all 6 of them gathered for additional training.
"First, it is hard to train all of you without giving you names. So, I will name all of you. Garry already has a name, so I will name 5 of you."
The Primeape with a heavy double-handed sword was named A. The Primeape with a thin, long sword was named B. The Primeape with a long spear was named C. The Primeape with a spear and a chain combined on the bottom of the spear was named D, and the Primeape with a heavy spear was named E.
None of them had a problem with this naming sense. They were happy to have gotten a name. A name held quite a significance for them.
"I will give each of you the respective sword and spear techniques. You will first train on it and then use elemental powers with it. Garry, come over here."
Everyone got their sword and spear manuals, but since none of them understood the language, they just waited for Axel to teach them.
"Garry, since everyone is trying to learn sword or spear, do you also want to train in it? It is entirely up to you. I know you've been thinking about it for some time now. So, what do you want to do?"
Axel made sure to make it understand that fighting with its hands was also an excellent idea. It would all depend on compatibility.
Garry looked directly into his eyes and started shouting and signaling something. It had been thinking about it for some time now. He was a tank but also a hard hitter. Therefore, it was believed that just a sword and spear would not be enough.

The tribe had a blacksmith who made and repaired multiple weapons. The tribe highly regarded this blacksmith. It was challenging to explain the design to the blacksmith, but after hearing about it, the blacksmith became very excited to try it.

But since they didn't know about it, it worked in Axel's favor.
"The blacksmith said that it would take a week to create a perfect shield for you. Till then, you will train with swords. Which type of sword do you want to select?"
Garry didn't choose the heavy double-handed sword. It was too heavy to be wielded by a single hand. Also, the thin sword just didn't feel right. After looking for some time, it chose a sword with double sharp edges and a curve in the middle. It was a uniquely shaped sword.
"Garry, you will train in this sword, and this is the training manual. You can read it, so go and read. You will start the training tomorrow. For the rest of you, I will translate everything today."

Axel had created training plans for each of them. A was going to focus on defense, B and C on pure attack, and D on both defense and offense simultaneously.

They were instructed to battle each other for two months. Learning and mastering new moves would take some time, and Axel believed that 2 months was a minimum estimate.
"As of right now, why don't we just try to level up 'Beserker Hollow' and upgrade it. Also, I feel that you should learn moves like 'Wild Charge' and also 'Iron Defense'."
Its hidden power type was electric. So, 'Wild charge' made perfect sense. Axel also realized that it didn't have any defense-raising moves. So, he added 'Iron defense'. He also wanted to learn moves like 'Electric Terrain' and 'Endeavor', but that would have to wait.

Two months had passed. Axel and the team spent their time training in their moves and honing their mastery. Axel also trained his body, and he could tell that he was now close to advancing to an elemental rank.
These two months had improved his Pokemon stats to an unbelievable level. Axel realized that this realm was truly magical. The improvement in his Pokemon's stats was massive. Such a thing would not have happened in the main world.
These two months had been hell for Lairon. The constant fear that it might die any time would make anyone crazy, and it was not even an uncommon rank Pokemon. Axel had to give constant attention to it. Even though Lairon did its best by avoiding getting hit, the grassy aura had become thick and had also increased the weight of Lairon.
"Don't worry, you not only have leveled up 'Calm mind' to level 40, making you able to manipulate the infinity energy faster, but you also have leveled up 'Substitute' to level 45 by increasing the number and giving them a bit of consciousness. That is not all. You have also learned multiple grass-type moves like 'Leaf tornado', 'Frenzy Plant', and 'Energy ball', and have leveled them up quite well."
After a lot of discussion, Axel, Togekiss, and Lairon came up with three ways by which Lairon could live another day.
The first was the move 'Clam mind'. Axel had conducted extensive research on this move, and one of the reasons it was so powerful was that the upgraded version would allow the user to have greater control over Infinity Energy.
Leveling this move to level 40 has improved its control over infinity energy. Lairon had also trained on the move 'Substitute'. They believed that with enough mastery, Lairon could transfer that grassy aura to its substitutes. Additionally, Axel taught it to learn and train in multiple grass-type moves. This was done to improve the hidden power type mastery of the move. It was also done so that Lairon could learn how to manipulate the grassy aura covering its whole body.
Yet, to this day, there has been no breakthrough.
A grassy-colored substance could be seen covering its entire body. It looked slimy, but if one were to touch it, it was as hard as a rock.
"I think that you are very close to controlling this grassy substance. Don't worry, you will get there."
These two months had also been instrumental for the 6 Primeapes, including Garry. Axel went to their training field. All of them were training with their respective weapons.
Axel could see a yellow-colored round shield with different carvings on its left side and a curved sword in its right hand. This shield was made after many experiments. The material used to make the shield was special. The materials will absorb most of the damage, store it, and Garry can use it to attack as well.
The sword was in just the right weight, and it was very deadly and sharp, too. It had been training with the sword and the shield for two months now. It had not become the master, but now it had integrated the fighting style with these two weapons.
A, B, and E were also ranked up to pseudo-king rank just a couple of weeks ago. This unexpected rank-up had surprised the tribe members. Before, they had doubts that Axel might just be bluffing on his training skills, but now, they fully believed it. All of them came to Axel and begged them to train them.
Even the leader had to step up. But Axel didn't have any time to train all the tribe members. So, he gave a declaration.
"For two hours every day, A, B, C, D, and E will give advice and help the tribe members train."
Even this was a significant boon to the tribe members. Now, the tribe members were ready to do anything to Axel and the group. They had now finally believed that he was a space pirate.

"Haha, nice. I like your confidence. I know that you will crush them this time.", laughed Axel and patted its back.
The time had come for Pawniard to exact revenge. It has trained very hard over the past two months. Every day, it would push itself to the limit and then even more bridge the gap. At first, it was training only with Primeape, who had just reached uncommon rank, but after a month, the Primeape could no longer keep up with it.
So, it started to spar with an experienced uncommon rank Pokemon and finally it was able to win against it too. It could not win against a rare rank Pokemon, but beating uncommon rank Pokemon was already a feat to celebrate.
This time, Axel was taking the 6 Primeapes, Pawniar,d and Lairon with him to meet with the Bisharp tribe again.
Koffing came rushing towards Pawniard to say goodbye. The only reason Pawniard had not evolved was because it wanted to fight with that Pawniard again and win, and the evolution of Koffing was conditional, so it was already on the level of uncommon rank right now.
"Kof… KOFFFING!!!" it said as if raising its fist to motivate Pawniard. Pawniard was in complete confidence this time. This time, it was not going to lose. It was going to teach everyone a lesson this time.
