The first couple of classes felt like the longest I had ever experienced—or so I thought. It was hard to concentrate, knowing what was coming. I dreaded meeting Jacob, yet I was burning with curiosity about how he would react. It was concerning that I hadn't seen him take any action regarding the matter; it felt so unlike him to allow things to unfold differently than he intended. Although Jacob and I didn't have much time to get to know one another, what I had learned so far about mates—especially Alphas—is that they tend to be protective and sometimes controlling over their mates.
Normally, I would strongly oppose such behavior, but deep down, I knew this was exactly how I felt toward Jacob, a feeling I would never confess to him.
