Sofia Lanzo's eyes widened as she took in the scene before her. A toddler's laughter filled the air, and she saw Eric Crown and Katie Goris sitting together on the couch, watching TV. The warmth and normalcy of the scene struck her, and she felt a pang of surprise.
"Eric's house?" she whispered to General Billy, her voice barely audible.
General Billy nodded, his expression serious. "Didn't you say you wanted to talk to Katie Goris, and then you can stay here for a few days. Eric and Katie wouldn't mind."
Sofia's mind reeled as she processed this new information. She had never been to Eric's home before, and the fact that she was here, surrounded by people who were risking their lives to protect her, was both comforting and unsettling.
Agent Thompson smiled and led her to a nearby room. "You can rest here, Sofia. We'll get you settled in."
