Elyon had finally begun to calm down.
His breathing had returned to normal, and the tremors in his limbs had stilled. But his curiosity—now fanned into a quiet flame—had not.
He glanced once more at the twin serpents now playfully coiled around Meng Bai's arms, seemingly more like pets than divine beasts.
"I still can't believe they're traveling with you," Elyon muttered. "Even forming a decent relationship with one rare beast is hard enough, but taming—forget that—befriending beasts like these? That's beyond reason."
Lin Mu simply smiled. "It wasn't that hard, really."
"Oh?" Elyon raised an eyebrow, a bit of his sarcasm returning. "So what, they just found you charismatic and decided to follow you one day?"
"Not exactly," Lin Mu chuckled. "I knew their parents."
That made Elyon freeze for a second.
"You knew their parents?" he repeated, tone laced with incredulity.
