Chapter 32 - Death's New Mission

Chapter 33: Death's New Mission

Death and the Corpse, along with Drexmar and the Xeno warriors, completed their mission and headed back to Thalos. Drexmar acquired his third power gem, and his confidence grew with each passing moment.

"These precious gems are so beautiful. No other mortal can rival me now!" Drexmar exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with ambition.

"Where can we find these imbalance gems that you're so obsessed with, Drexmar?" Death asked, his patience wearing thin.

"Patience, my friend. Our next target is the remaining Djinn territories. We'll find one there," Drexmar replied, his gaze lingering on Zapper. With a sudden burst of flame, Zapper was engulfed in agony.

"Aaaaahhh! Cool it down, my Lord!" Zapper begged, his voice laced with pain.

"Ah, the feeling is exhilarating! Hahaha!" Drexmar laughed maniacally.

"Enough of this foolishness, Drexmar," Death warned, his voice cold and detached. "You wouldn't have achieved this without my help."

Edge helped Zapper to his feet, the Corpse seething with anger. The tension between the Corpse and the Xeno warriors was palpable.

"When can we deal with these insolent fools, my Lord?" Reaper whispered to Death. "They're growing too bold."

"We need them, Reaper. For now, we'll endure. Our time for vengeance will come," Death replied, his eyes locked on Drexmar.

Upon arriving at Thalos's domain, Drexmar reported their progress. "We've accomplished our mission, my Lord. Can we proceed to the Djinn's territory in the Syphon dimension? I'm eager to claim my first imbalance gem."

"That is indeed your next mission," Thalos replied, his gaze shifting to Death. "But first, I need a word with Death."

Drexmar departed, leaving Thalos and Death alone. Thalos's expression turned cold, his disappointment evident.

"You're a disappointment, Death. How can I trust you for this mission?" Thalos's voice was laced with disdain.

"Please, give me time, my Lord. I promise to bring James to you. He's grown stronger, but I'll find a way," Death pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.

"You're fortunate I still have use for you, weakling," Thalos sneered. "Your new mission is to find the Grand Soul Gem before Drexmar does. This gem is not one of the imbalance gems but far more powerful. I plan to unify myself with my father, becoming the most powerful immortal to annihilate our rivals, the Titans. Your ultimate mission is to unseal my father's soul using the Grand Soul Gem. Once you've completed both missions, I'll grant you possession of the gem. You must tame the Djinn who bears it – and only you can do so, thanks to the soul essence within you."

"Where can I find this gem, my Lord?" Death asked, his determination renewed.

"In the Forbes Wasteland," Thalos replied, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

The stage is set for another confrontation between Ian and Death. Will their paths cross again soon?
