Cody still hadn't attached to his children but he had gotten better at dealing with them. He had known since before they got married that he would do anything to keep Karli's love but he had never quite imagined himself sinking as low as blowing raspberries on his daughter's stomach to make her laugh.
If any of his friends could see him now, they would mock him mercilessly. Well, any of his friends but Alex. He had probably done the same thing. The difference was that he liked it.
It was still hard to fathom a Number actually wanting to deal with a baby. With their heightened senses, the cries and smells that came from them were so much worse than they had to be for the average person.
Ray had three (though at different times rather than all at once like Cody) and Alex had one but they both adored their children and actually enjoyed spending time with them. That was what he didn't understand. How could they possibly love these annoying creatures that were nothing but trouble?
