The face that was smiling at Faolan was rotten and elongated. Raising his pistol he fired off a few rounds while dodging to the left of the entity that had been following him. His intentions were to flank this thing, only to realize that it had a body that was far to long to be anything but a serpent. Instead of scales, it was human flesh that had been melded together. Faolan could see torsos of every size and of both genders with limp loose limbs coming out of it. The ones that enraged him the most were the smaller arms and legs he saw.
Emptying his sidearm he quickly grabbed his rifle from his back sling and continued his assault on this thing as it chased him. Faolan was desperately looking for an escape route. He still had to get out into open space to fix the thrusters, and he really did not want this thing to follow him. And he was not sure how this thing would fair out in the expanse of space. He kept maneuvering around the creatures swipes and lunges as his panic started to rise.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuckity fuck fuck! Wait! There! A small utility hatch, if I can get into it, I should be able to escape and call this thing in." He thought to himself. Propelling himself to the side as he lobbed a small explosive device into the creatures now open mouth with the inhuman smile still somehow remaining on its face. The creature snapped it out of the air and after a few seconds part of it'd makeshift body started raining down everywhere. It started screeching, flailing its limbs and head as it felt the loss of its mass.
Using this opportunity, Faolan quickly moved to hatch that he saw. With a fluid motion he opened it and jumped into it feet first to ensure that he closed it. While he did he also caused himself to become wounded, with blood now trickling up is arm as he went down the hatch. Cursing himself he realized that he had no idea where this went. Then he heard the roar of water coming from below him.
"Please for the love of the gods let this be clean water." He thought to himself as he fell into a huge chamber half filled with water. Crossing his ankles and putting his arms across his chest with his hands on his shoulders, he broke the surface of the water. Once he was fully submerged he started swimming up towards the surface and to get his bearings. Quickly looking around he saw a platform that he could use to get out of the water. Once he got to the platform, he pulled himself up and just laid there, winded. Out of nowhere he heard loud clanging noises and looked up from his laying position to see the creature falling into the water.
"OH you've got to be shitting me!" He thought to himself, quickly rolling onto his stomach and sprinting into the corridor he saw. He saw an open door and ran into it slamming it shut with his back against the door, and waited with bated breath.
After he calmed down his heart and caught his breath he saw that this was a resource room. He slowly got up and started making more ammo for his weapons as he tapped his communicator and hailed Dr. Valencia.
