Two days later, the soft rustle of morning light filled the hospital room. Mio stretched her fingers beneath the blanket, her body feeling a little stronger than it had in days. The rhythmic beep of the monitor was gone now, replaced by the quiet sound of Claude typing beside her. He had turned the hospital room into a mini office, his laptop perched on the visitor's table, files stacked neatly in a way that screamed "CEO mode," even in a hospital.
When Mio's sleepy voice finally broke the silence, it was barely more than a whisper.
"Claude… what are you doing?"
He looked up immediately. "Working. But I can stop if you promise not to faint again."
Her eyes narrowed, playful despite the lingering fatigue. "If I faint again, it's probably because you're too annoying."
