Cauldron Spirit is different from Ye Lingyue's other little beasts; it doesn't eat mundane food. It doesn't eat any of the various species produced in Hong Meng Heaven. To date, it only eats the kind of ore produced in the ore cave.
Ye Lingyue roughly scouted the ore cave with her Divine Sense; it's quite large, but there will ultimately be a day when it runs out.
Ye Lingyue pondered that to feed the Cauldron Spirit, she might have to explore elsewhere in Hong Meng Heaven or on the mainland to see if she could find more similar ores. But first, she had to know the name of this ore.

Since being refined into a Puppet by Ye Lingyue, Ye Lingyue initially wanted to investigate who exactly was behind the scenes trying to assassinate her.
But despite using Soul Search, Ye Lingyue couldn't extract any useful memories from Hunyuan Ancestor.
