"Am I a bad mother?" Kate suddenly asked, already changed into light-colored silk pajamas, sitting in front of the dressing table brushing her hair, but staring blankly at herself in the mirror as if she were unhappy.
"How could you be?" Adrian approached from behind Kate, gently caressing her cheek, "The little one loves you very much, and you spend more time with her than I do, don't you? If anyone is unqualified, it would be me."
"But..." Kate hesitated, after a long pause she lifted her head to glance at him and then murmured in a low voice, "I shouldn't have left her alone crying. Lily is not even 3 years old, how could she understand all these things?"
