Chapter 7 - Chapter 1

"Thisislikethefifth person who has gone missing this week. What's even going on? " he appealed to himself, glancing down at the latest newspapers he had placed on his messy desk, where all the missing people would appear to let anyone know if something came up.

Perhapsanothermurder, Theodore thought, furious about how many of the people in the city of Croubridge had been missing for like a day or so. He knew he couldn't do anything to help, knowing how people in his school would bully him for being an odd person. He doesn't fit in with any of the other teenagers his age, but that doesn't stop him from trying to do what he wants to do for the people in the community.

Sighing, he pushed his glasses to the bridge of his nose, taking a break from what he was doing on the desk in his bedroom. He glanced out the window, seeing the rain pouring down heavily during a school week.

"I wonder if the rain is going to stop any time soon. Mom and Dad are going to come back home soon from work, just to complain about it," he said, peeking through his bedroom window, and seeing his neighbors who were running in the rain trying to get themselves home without being wet. By knowing they already have.

He groans, knowing he has been sitting his ass in his room all day right when he got out of school. Deciding to go for a walk in the rain, before his parents come back home from work.

"Maybe I should take a look at the case board that's hung up downtown, which isn't too far from home, " Theodore mumbled to himself, wandering across his room, going through his closet to grab his hoodie, and heading out the door.

Jogging his way toward downtown Croubridge, which was an hour's walk on foot rather than in the car. He didn't want to bring his car downtown because of how people could be robbed of other people's cars, and he didn't want to bother his parents about paying for the damage to his car. Knowing his parents wouldn't mind it, he would rather be safe than be stressed as much as he is.

Theodore reached the board of missing people who had never returned or had been but weren't the same as they were. Stories were suggested about the suspension of the case of the missing people who were found, who appear to have marks that were left on the victim's neck. Police don't know where they have come from, but people have said that it seems to be a suspension of people who didn't appear to be human.

Glancing over to the board once again, he saw that there appeared to be more missing people than he thought there would be. He had no idea about it and seemed to be left behind in the case that he had from the newspaper.

Is the police even doing anything about it, he thought, glaring up at the faces of the innocent people who didn't deserve this chaos? They were just normal people like him with normal lives that were taken away from them and their families. Theodore couldn't do anything about it because he was just a normal high school student with a life in which he had to deal with bullies and try to make it out of there till he graduated.

"If only there was something for me to do to save these people, " he said to himself, placing his hand on the board, feeling hopeless. Theodore felt a vibrant sound from the pocket of his sweatpants. He removed his hand from the board to reach into his pocket to find his phone, and there was a notification from his mother saying she and his father were coming back home. Sending a quick okay before placing his phone back.

From a distance, the sound of a car speeding through the busy lanes could be heard by a multitude of people from farther away. It was heading its way towards the end of the street where Theodore was standing, as he was about to head back home. Paying no attention to what was happening, Theodore could barely hear out of the car that had parked next to him. When he finally paid attention, he could hear a door slamming from what seemed to be the car from before and heard footsteps walking nearby.

Before he could react, a cold hand grasped his mouth as if he were being taken away in public. That there was nobody around him to help.

"Hmph-" Theodore groaned out, struggling with the hold of his kidnapper's grip. He tried everything he could to get himself out of this situation, but they were way stronger than him, and his strength was running out.

He felt himself going unconscious, as his kidnapper dragged him into the suspension car with others who were also in the car. Before he knew it, everything went black.
