The fog was thick, both damp and cold.
Aunt Waverly had breakfast ready early, and Jasmine Yale was awakened by Little Candy's crying.
"Miss Yale, it's time to wake up," Aunt Waverly greeted.
"Oh, Jasmine, did the little one wake you up?" Ann Nolan was holding the baby on the balcony.
The outside world must have seemed fascinating to the little one, who stopped crying immediately upon standing by the window, her big eyes wide and shiny.
She reached out her little paws, trying to touch the cold glass.
Ann Nolan quickly grabbed her hand.
"No, it's not early. Little Candy's awake, so of course I can't stay in bed."
"Zachary Santos is coming over in a bit to join us for breakfast," Ann said.
"Sure," Jasmine Yale stretched out her hand, "let me hold her."
"Little Candy, let Auntie hold you," Ann Nolan passed the little one into Jasmine Yale's arms.
