Takai Shinji laughed wildly and celebrated as the Gate began to tremble. Black miasma poured downward, warping space, darkening and corrupting everything it touched.
As the door opened wider, something emerged from within: two enormous hands made of shadows, pushing the gate even further.
A dark presence revealed itself through crimson eyes glowing amid the blackness. The Oni weren't sure if this was truly Shuten Doji or something else entirely.
The glorious and domineering king of all oni... could this terrifying thing be him?
Black lightning surged from the gate, striking Sadako and injecting words, power, and searing pain into her body.

She dropped to her knees, her soul quaking in agony.
It was unbearable.
But she knew.
She knew.
This was all she could do for her tribe.
Tears streamed down her face.
Perhaps in another timeline she could have found a happier ending, if she had met a certain young man.
