How could a place of suppression possibly allow for transcendence?

Yet, there is no other choice, for this world no longer affords a cultivator any choice.
There is only one path. They must walk it; whether they do or don't, they must still walk it.
Alternatively, surrender and die.
Thus, living is often a more painful ordeal than dying.
