The next ment when he opened his eyes, Kanzaki saw himself in a very huge spacious room of empty space. But instead of panicking, Kanzaki simply stayed calm as he recognized such space before.
To be exact this wasn't his first time entering this space, he had entered this space once when he requested Ryuujiand Greg to teach him on how to synchronize with his weapons. After all it was believed that since special weapons were made from creatures unearth from the ground or materials that appeared in the open, the researchers believed that the special weapons have a part of the creature's souls imparted on it.
The very first person who traversed the realism of this theory was none other than Greg himself and as per result, it was a success and soils within weapons has been confirmed.
In that moment a cold breeze swept past him from behind, as Kanzaki quickly turned around and saw the soul of the black dragon Fafnir looking down on him from the abyss.
"You..."
Naturally Fafnir recognized Kanzaki since he was the current wielder of its sword and he had once entered this space.
Of course despite his sudden appearance in this space, Fafnir still knew the situation outside and this time it knew that Kanzaki met a formidable opponent.
"Please! Don't push me out!" Reacted by Kanzaki as he also remembered that communicating with his sword was a rare thing.
After all the last time he tried synchronizing with Fafnir, he got kicked out of these space without even being able to do anything at all. It was as if the phantasm dragon itself was rejecting its existence. This time with such rare opportunity right infront of him, Kanzaki has no plan at all to waste it like in the past.
"You don't want to go out? Funny! Isn't your body in critical situation? You could die at this rate" scoffed by Fafnir
"That...." stuttered by Kanzaki as he had a hard time looking for the right words to say.
However in that moment Kanzaki realized something, how did the dragon know that he is in a critical condition? That was only possible if the soul itself can observe the outside world. However that is just a theory and theory needs to be proven.
"Wait! You know my condition? How?"
"Is that a matter of question? All I need is to thinker a little bit into the mana flow in your weapon to see and observe the outside world... you are in a war yes? Do you really have that much time wasting away in here just by talking to me?" Asked by Fafnir
"I believe I have enough time" replied by Kanzaki
"Enough time? On what? You humans are fighting a losing battle that you refuse to accept, I advise you to get out and try your hardest to survive" sneered by Fafnir
In that moment Kanzaki sprung up as he said.
"I can't! I tried okay! I tried my best, I fought my best, I planned, prepared, but despite all that the enemy still overwhelmed us. I even tried bringing them all down by myself, however I can't even get them to fight me at their full extent. I lost... I need power, that's right power! I believe that if I can synchronize with you, we can win this war"
"Win this war? Gahahaha! What a joke, why should I even try to lift an effort to help you? You humans are like ants to us, in your eyes we are practically God's, legends, superior entity... have you seen a god care for what an ant thinks?" Laughed by Fafnir
"But if you don't do this, I'll die... and there's a good chance that you'll die too, do you want to die that much?" Retorted by Kanzaki
"Do you really think I'm afraid of death? As of right now I am just a soul left behind inside a weapon meant to kill, not Sentient but a trapped spirit... if you die what that got to do with me? If I break and my soul disintegrates, what does that got to do with me? I already died once and already dead, the dead can't fear death since they are already dead"
Hearing that, Kanzaki grits his teeth in frustration and Retorted.
"But you fear of being forgotten"
"I beg your pardon?"
"You said that the dead can't fear death because they are dead right? Well that's correct, but being dead doesn't exempt you from not fearing anything... there is one thing the dead fear the most" said by Kanzaki
"Hoh? And what's that?" Asked by Fafnir
"Being forgotten, while still alive creatures who walked the earth learned to read, walk, breath, eat, and survive... through this they learned importance, love, care, hatred, anger, and so much more... in an endless loop and hardship and success, people begun to notice how worthless their life is. Everyday is a loop waking up, eating breakfast, going to work, eating lunch, more work, going home, eating dinner, and sleep... after that it just repeat itself... through this challenges of hardship people slowly unravels what life is really supposed about."
"....."
"Some even think that if this cycle goes on, what would become of me? Would I just grow old without anyone noticing me? Those are the questions that started to bloom, from there they begun doing different, explore more to life, make more friends, become sociable, let the whole world know that you exist and not an insignificant being... this doesn't only apply to humans it also apply to your self and that is why you have legends about you"
"Legends..." said by Fafnir
"Fafnir! The phantasmal dragon of destruction who lived in the end of time, the dragon that was killed by a hero, your story lives on till this day, and if humanity dies, you will also be forgotten and lose meaning to the life you have lived when you were alive" said by Kanzaki
"What a great speech! Are you expecting an applause or something?" Asked by Fafnir
"Help me please!" Begged by Kanzaki
"You told me that I fear of being forgotten right? Well I hate to break to you but I don't care... as I've said, what's that got to do with me?
