The morning sunshine streamed through the dormitory window, illuminating the balcony. Ye Yangyang climbed out of bed, changed out of her pajamas, and walked into the sunlight to wash up. The dormitory was silent. It was summer vacation, and with all her roommates gone home, she was the only one left.
She hadn't gone home. That place no longer resembled the home she remembered. Each visit left her feeling incredibly oppressed. She preferred to stay in the dormitory, even if it meant being alone in the peace and quiet.
After washing her face, Ye Yangyang took a book out onto the balcony and read aloud for an hour before heading to the canteen for breakfast. After her meal, she planned to visit the book center to buy textbooks for the upcoming semester. She wanted to study during the summer break to get a step ahead and improve her grades.
She didn't consider herself particularly smart; all her academic achievements were earned through sheer diligence.
