"Whimper... Don't come over..."
Li Wei didn't even look at Ling Mo; after tossing the alarm, she just ran away helter-skelter, simultaneously emitting non-stop sharp screams.
Ling Mo watched speechlessly as the young girl ran in panic toward the green belt, with awkward and wobbly steps...
"Typically in such situations, one would sprain an ankle," Ling Mo thought to himself.
Just as Li Wei had dashed into the green belt, the tips of her toes got entangled in dead, dry grass...
"Ah!"
Li Wei shrieked, tumbling straight into a bush.
"Okay, I overestimated you."
Ling Mo unceremoniously pocketed the alarm and walked over to pick up the glowing egg lamp.
He scrutinized it for a moment and then tried to give it a gentle twist. The light dimmed little by little and then went off with a "click".
"This is quite convenient; the brightness can be adjusted," Ling Mo, holding the egg lamp, approached the struggling Li Wei in the bushes.
