Chapter 6 - A New Path

Jason left the cave an hour later after talking with the old man celestial. He decided that he would do what the old man had asked of him, but he knew it was going to be hard and dangerous as well. He tucked away the Mortis Blade away inside his robes and left the cave in search of his padawan. He knew that he was going to need her help if he was going to accomplish what he had planned to do.

He had searched for a few hours before he eventually found her, meditating under a huge tree in the middle of the forest. He stood there for a moment before approaching her, trying to find the right words to say to her. "Amara, can we talk please?" Jason said stepping forward out of the shade of the trees.

Amara opened her eyes after hearing her masters voice. She stood up quickly, getting ready to run from him. "Master I told you I don't want to be around you right now." She said in a scared voice, thinking that her master might hurt her. "Please just go away."

"Amara, wait. Will you please listen to me? There is something that I need to tell you" Jason said as he stopped walking towards her as to not make her run away again. She stood still for a minute staring into his eyes before finally nodding to him allowing him to talk. He took a breath and gathered his thoughts before he spoke.

"Amara, I'm deeply sorry for what happened on Tython, and for how I have treated you and misguided you. I'm sorry for scaring you, and for showing the dark side of me. But I need you to know that isn't my true self. Something has happened to me recently. I have traveled through the force by a very powerful being summoning me, something that I could not stop or control." Jason said as he started to tear up.

"I saw the true embodiment of the dark side of the force Amara, and it shook me to my core. And it corrupted me and has me twisted around its finger. I never meant to do any of this Amara, but it has happened, and I am sorry. I hope that you can forgive my failure as a master. If you don't want to study under me, I will understand, it will probably be for the best." Jason said, pouring out his heart to her. He stood there in silence not really knowing what to expect, he was just trying to figure out why he said all that, when he was just trying to give a simple apology.

When he looked up, Amara had walked up to him and gave him a big hug. It was at this moment that he could feel that Amara and he had a force bond, a connection that allowed them to communicate through the force over long ranges of space. He had never noticed it until now when he bared his soul to her. He looked down at her, as she looked up to him as they hugged each other. Jason was about to say something before just reached up to kiss him on the lips. They kissed only for a moment and then she pulled away, embarrassed about what just happened. "Master I am so sorry" she said as she tried to push away from him, but he brought her back into a hug. "It's okay Amara, you did nothing wrong" he said as he caressed her head to calm her nerves.

They stood there in each other's embrace for some time before deciding it was time to head back to the camp site before it got to late. When they got back to the camp, it was dinner time, so they headed to the cafeteria and got some of the slop that they were serving today. They didn't have much for food here since it was mostly for just feeding the miners here. While they were eating, Ajunta Pall had walked in to get some food.

"Amara, I will be right back, I have to tell Master Pall about something." Jason said getting up from his chair. She simply nodded back as she was taking a spoon full of slop at the time.

"Master Pall, I think I may have found something useful earlier today in my walk" Jason said as he walked up to Pall.

"Huh, what did you find Master Jason?" Pall said curiously to Jason's statement.

"I found a cave that had large amount of crystal formations. When I went into the cave, it was overwhelming with force energy. I think they crystals seem to contain properties of the force."

"Outstanding! This is great news Master Jason. Tomorrow you will lead us to this cave, and we'll begin to harvest the crystals." Pall said excitedly about these findings.

Jason bowed to Pall and turned around to go sit back down with his padawan. He went back to eating his slop when sat back down, but Amara had already finished her bowl and just sat there in silence watching her master eat. When he had finished eating, they left the cafeteria and returned to there prefab hut to get some clean clothes, and they went in separate directions to shower.

While Jason showering, he was thinking back before all this happened to him, back to his life on Earth. Sure, it wasn't glamorous in the least bit, but it way simpler than what he was dealing with right now. Trying to do the right thing, but also dealing with the fact that you're also corrupted by the dark side of the force, which is weird for him to keep saying about himself. Then he thought about when he first arrived here, all the things he could and feel, living in his favorite fictional universe, seemed like a dream come true.

He continued to stand under the hot water, letting it just flow all over his body while he came to terms with that he is going to do better now. He was still going to follow Ajunta Pall and his dark side followers in this war, and still play the role of Abeloth's puppet. But he wasn't going to allow himself to hurt anybody else that he cares about here. He would follow the Sith, but not become Sith. He would use the force, but light and dark, but not succumb to its corruption. He would serve the force, not an empire or republic. He would create his own order of force users that not chained down like the Jedi or unbound like the Sith. He would create an order that would seek to bring balance to the force by serving the full spectrum of the force.

After he finished his shower, he got dried off and got dressed, and walked back to his hut. When he got back to the hut, Amara hadn't returned yet, so he decided to sit down an meditate until she returned. When she had come back to the hut, she was glistening head to toe, and she smelled heavenly. He hadn't really seen her like this before, and his heart started to beat a little bit faster by her appearance and began to blush a little.

Amara had noticed that he was starting to get red in the face when he was looking at her. "Master is everything okay? Your face is red, are you feeling ill?" She asked oblivious to the signs of her master being embarrassed.

"Um, cough, Amara, you may want to put on your robes and not mine" he said trying to not stare at her. She looked at him with a confused look as she didn't know what she was talking about until she looked down. She had mistakenly grabbed some of his clean robes by mistake and they were hanging off her body very loosely. One of her shoulders had almost slipped completely off her arm revealing her chest before she caught it and pulled it up and covered her chest. She turned red like a tomato in the face embarrassed by what she had done.

"Uh, master, could you turn around and close your eyes please? I don't want to walk all the way back to the showers" Amara said shyly trying to not look at him in the face.

"Right! Of course, Amara" Jason said quite quickly, and getting up to turn around and closing his eyes tightly.

"Okay master. It's okay for you turn around now" Amara said like a shy whisper. Jason turned back around to see she was still very red in the face and flustered by the whole situation. They had stayed up a little bit longer talking and reconciling their behavior as of recently. When it had gotten dark out, they decided to turn in for the night and crawled into their sleeping sacks.

"Um master" Amara had said quietly and nervously.

"What is it Amara" Jason said.

"Um, well, I just wanted to say that…. I love you…." Amara nervously whispered to him. There was a small pause between the two of them before Jason replied.

"I love you too, Amara" Jason said in a nervous whisper back to her.
