Chapter 39 - "She is awake."

Adrian's POV:

I sat on the ground before the circle, folding my shirt sleeves up to my forearms. Closing my eyes, I began to chant the words of ἐνέργεια. My breath grew heavier as I gathered all my power, channeling it toward the center of the circle.

Pain surged from my feet upward, burning its way into my chest. I cried out, the sound raw with agony, as sweat poured down my face. In the circle, a ball of glowing blue energy began to form.

From my pocket, I pulled a strand of Eira's hair and laid it upon the orb. My voice broke as I continued the incantation, forcing the transfer. The pain sharpened, unbearable now, as if every part of me was being ripped apart. I felt my strength leaving me, pouring into her body.

I collapsed onto the ground, barely breathing.

"Eira… you'll be fine."

"I won't let anything happen to you…"

Blood spilled from my lips as my vision dimmed. Just before darkness claimed me, I heard a voice—Mike's voice—calling my name.

Mike's POV:I reached the clearing in the jungle at vampire speed, just in time to see Adrian fall.

"Adrian! Get up!"

Elisa's sobs tore through the night. "Mike, do something!" she screamed.

I pressed my hand to Adrian's chest. His heart… it was slowing, growing colder by the second. He was beginning to freeze. I knew what had to be done.

"We have to take him to Michael."

I lifted Adrian into my arms, carrying him at full speed. Behind me, Elisa followed, her tears never stopping.

By the time we reached the meeting hall, the others were already gathered. I laid Adrian on the table. Michael stepped forward silently, placing a hand on Adrian's chest. His eyes closed as he focused, then suddenly he tore open his own shirt. With a blade, he carved the symbol of the Triskelion into his chest.

His companions formed a circle, chanting in unison. Michael cut his wrist and let his blood drip onto Adrian's lips.

"I have saved his body from freezing," Michael said grimly.

"But the damage within… the loss of power… that will take time to heal."

Without another word, he left.

Tessy's POV:

I had been sitting outside Eira's room for three hours, praying silently for her to wake. Then I saw a nurse rush past me toward the doctor. My heart leapt as I followed close behind.

"Doctor—what happened?" I asked breathlessly.

He ignored me, hurrying into the room. Moments later he stepped out, his expression pale with shock.

"What happened?" I repeated desperately.

"She's awake," he whispered, as if he didn't believe his own words.

Tears stung my eyes. "Thank you, doctor!" I grabbed his hand.

He only nodded, still shaken, his face marked with disbelief rather than relief.

"Everything is okay now, right?" I pressed.

"Yes… but it's a miracle. All her internal injuries have healed… faster than anything I've ever seen. Even her brain activity—it's normal."

"Really? Can I see her?"

"You may," he replied, still dazed, before walking away, unable to explain what he had just witnessed.
