Joy after taking a nap went to her work. Joy went to the reception area and asked if anyone needs any help. Drake saw Joy and went to her and said," Hey! Joy, It's 8 PM Why you are still here, Don't you have to go home". No, I am on night shift drake, said Joy. Night shift? Why? Are you thinking of changing your shift, asked Drake.
No, I am gonna do both day and night shift, Jake told that he needed more people for the night shift so I Asked him to let me do the night shifts too.
Is something wrong? any Problem? Joy? Asked Drake. Joy waited for a moment and then said," No, Everything's fine, it's Just jack needed few more people for night shift and I thought It would be good option to earn some more till I get another Job, Said Joy in hesitation.
Okay, then how about having a cup of coffee before we get back to work? said Drake with hope in his eyes. Coffee? don't you have to go home? asked Joy.
Home? No? I hardly go home as Sometimes I have got work on night shifts too, And if I need to sleep then I sleep in my office or at doctor's mess.
So, Can we? Joy? said, Drake.
Okay, let's go, said Joy and they left together to have some coffee. Drake brought two hot coffee and gave one to Joy, and sat beside her.
" So, how it feels working here Joy? asked Drake. Umm... It's nice, every day there's something new to learn, it's so fascinating to see how the doctors run from here and there when there's an emergency like I am watching a movie. Also, here I got to meet Clair, Peter and, Joy paused for a moment and then said, and You. So I think this is a great place for me to work, said Joy with a little smile on her face.
A wide smile Spread on Drake Lips as heard this, but he handled himself right away and he said, "Really? I didn't know it was that great, But anyway I am happy for you that you like working here Joy. Also, You are graduating this year, When is the Graduation ceremony?
its next month, I will be graduated then I too could have a permanent job, said Joy with happiness.
Drake and Joy chat for a few more minutes and finished their coffee and went to their work.
Night Shifts end at 4 AM, Joy walked to her home, she went first to Lisa's room to check on her and then she went to her room and lied down on her bed straight.joy was so tired she in few seconds she fell asleep.
a week passed doing night shifts, it was making joy all tired, and Embrey was not losing a single chance to pick on Joy. she would make joy clean two times, sometimes she would insult her in front of everyone, but Joy was enduring all of it.
and when Embrey got to know that Joy is working on night shifts too, she decided to do everything just to make joy suffer more. Seeing Drake getting attracted to Joy all the time was making Embrey angry and sad.
Drake was happy to spend little time with Joy because of her night shifts.
Joy after finishing her day shifts would go to the rooftop just to get some sleep for an hour, and Drake would go to the rooftop just to look at Joy sleeping, without getting noticed.
Seeing Joy and Drake getting close was making Embrey furious.
Embrey just wanted to harm Joy by anyways. Embrey was trying everything but was getting failed.
Next day Joy went to the hospital and she did her cleaning work on all the floors, she talked with Clair, and then at past noon, she went to the cafeteria to have her lunch.
As Joy was going to Cafeteria, someone called her, Hey! Joy, Wait. Joy turned. It was Embrey.
Joy was stunned for a second, Why she is calling me?
Hey! Joy! I want to talk with you, do you have a minute? Humbly said Embrey, seeing Embrey talking to her Joy was amazed for a moment. joy Looked at Embrey and said, " Yeah! sure Doctor Embrey, what is it?
Hmm.. can we go somewhere else? asked Embrey. Okay, Doctor Embrey, said Joy, and then they went out to talk.

Embrey: Joy I wanted to apologise to you, I am sorry Joy.
Joy: Apology but why Doctor Embrey?
Embrey Hold Joy's Hand and said," I am sorry Joy, all these days I was so rude to you, I should not have done that, It was mean and I am sorry for my behaviour Joy.
Please Forgive me joy, I was too jealous when I saw Drake with you and thought you are trying to steal him from me, But now I know everything, You never thought about drake that way and you were right in the cafeteria too, but I didn't believe you and did so many horrible things to you. I am Sorry Joy.
Joy: No, its Okay Doctor Embrey, I can understand why you did this, You love drake so much, But believe me, there's nothing between me and him, we are just friends and he loves you too, you are meant to be together. So, you don't have to worry about me.
Embrey: Oh! Joy, you are so kind and nice, you forgive me even when treated you like trash, I wanted to make up to you for what I did Joy, said Embrey with tears in her eyes.
Joy: Its Okay doctor Embrey you don't need to do anything at all, everything is good now.
But Embrey did not listen to Joy and said," Please Joy let me make it up to you for what I did if you didn't let me then I am gonna think that you have not forgiven me yet".
Joy was confused about what to do, So to make Embrey feel better joy agreed.
Thank you, Joy, you lifted a burden off my shoulder. can we be friends Joy? I know after What I did, It's hard for you to believe me, but I promise I would be a good friend, said Embrey.
Okay Doctor Embrey, If that would help you make feel better then let's do that, said Joy.
Now when we are friends, just call me Embrey, Joy and how about having a little party to celebrate our friendship, said Embrey.
At first, Joy felt strange but to make Embrey feel good Joy said Yes. Okay then about tonight at hospital rooftop just the two of us friends at night? huh? asked Embrey.
on rooftop? Okay but I can't be there for long Jake would be so Angry if he found out that I am skipping my work, said Joy.
Okay, I would be off at 10 PM, let's meet there at 10:15 PM, Okay? said, Embrey. Joy agreed to Embrey's plan and they both went to the hospital to finish their work.
Joy went to the cafeteria and saw peter was sitting alone. Hey, why you are sitting alone? had you eaten yet? asked joy. No Noona, I was waiting for you, I saw you going out with Doctor Embrey, So ii thought I should wait for you, But why did you go out with her Noona? asked Peter
It was nothing, She was sorry about being a little rude me earlier, so she asked me to befriend with her, Peter Interrupted Joy and said, what? friend? with her? but she doesn't seem like the person who would apologise for her action so soon.
Come on, peter she is not a that bad person, she just has some misunderstanding, now when they are resolved, she wants to befriend with me, said Joy.
then Joy left to her work.
After finishing her work at 9:30 PM Embrey called Joy to remind her to meet at the rooftop at 10:15 PM.
Joy finished her work, soon it was 10 PM. joy went to her locker she put her phone on charge, she charged it for 5 minutes, wore her sweater and didn't took her Coat as she won't be there for too long.
Peter saw Joy asked," hey Noona, I am going to get some coffee, Do you want some? No, but can you do a thing? said, Joy. Yeah Sure Noona, what is it?
I am going to rooftop to get some fresh air, If anyone needed me here can you just message me, I would come back right away. Okay! I will do that.
and Joy then left to the rooftop to meet Embrey. Joy reached there, It was Cold out there, Joy looked at the time it was already 10:15, but Embrey didn't come. Joy took out her phone to call Embrey, but there was no answer. Joy waited for few more minutes, but Embrey didn't show up. after few seconds Embrey called Joy and said," Hey Joy! I am so sorry, I was coming to meet you, but I got a call there was an emergency, So I couldn't make it, I am sorry Joy.
Joy heard Embrey and said," Its Okay Embrey and before Joy could say anything else the Phone battery died and phone hunger up.
Ahh!! battery died, I need to go down and charge it, I should go down now, it's so cold out here, I should have brought my coat, said, Joy.
Joy walked to Rooftop gate to go down, she pushed the door to open it, but the door was not opening.
"Why is it not opening? maybe it's jammed, said Joy to herself". joy pushed the door with all force but it won't Open, Joy got so anxious, She shouted," Hello? Hello? is anybody there? Please open the door, I am locked out here? Hello? Please, someone, open this door.
but there was no one. Joy was out there in cold all alone, she has no idea what was happening.
Joy tried to Start her phone but it won't start as the battery was dead. joy shouted out loud for help but there was no Response.
Joy sat down on the bench, It was getting colder, Joy was shivering in cold out there.
Drake was looking for Joy to spend some time with her. He looked for her but couldn't find her.
He saw Peter at reception and thought of asking him. As Drake went to ask peter an Emergency patient came in with lot injuries due to an accident. There was chaos, Drake Ran towards the patient to look at him. He immediately examined the patient and asked Peter to prepare the Operating Room as the need to get surgery soon.
Drake went into surgery and asked Peter to assist him.
While Drake was busy in surgery, Joy was Shivering in cold out there, Joy felt numb, she could feel her body as it was so cold, Joy lost her consciousness.
Joy life was in danger, and Drake was busy in saving a life. How would drake save Joy's Life?
