Aunt Shuihua tried to respond, "Let me tell you..."
While the conversation inside was lively, the outside world was equally bustling.
Separately, as Aunt Shuihua entered the courtyard, she found herself disorientated and unable to make much progress. However, this old woman was unflustered and proceeded steadily, maintaining her composure. But others in her group were less composed.
Aunt Shuihua's two grandsons, Da Mao (14 years old) and Er Mao (12 years old), each had their roles.
Er Mao, being the younger and smaller, held a string of small firecrackers and mingled with a group of children, saying, "Look, I have some too."
The children on this street were not only neighbors but also classmates from nearby schools. The elementary school and kindergarten were adjacent, and across the street was the middle school. So these children all knew each other well.
If a stranger showed up, they immediately questioned, "Who are you?"
