Ever since Old Man Lan moved into the courtyard, everyone has been amazed at how well he lives, never worrying about food and drink. No one knows how much money Grandpa Lan earns, but he certainly knows how to enjoy his meals. Even at his age, he loves to eat meat, and there's always some kind of meat dish at his house every day. That's way better than how the rest of us live.
There are other well-off families in the courtyard, some even better off than him, but none of them are as generous with their food as Grandpa Lan.
