When Zhao Guihua returned, the meal was almost ready. She carried a bucket, her face beaming with joy.
Seeing her in-laws, she greeted them with a hearty laugh, "So, the in-laws are here! You're in for a treat today, I had a great catch!"
She instructed her daughter-in-law, Liang Meifen, to stew two more fish. Liang Meifen quickly got to work, while Zhuang Zhixi peeked in, exclaiming, "Wow, Mom! You're on fire today! This is a first!"
Zhao Guihua was notoriously the worst fisherman in the family, usually coming back empty-handed. This sudden success was indeed rare. Zhuang Zhixi joked, "If I didn't know better, I'd think you bought the fish and pretended to have caught them yourself..."
Zhao Guihua shot him a look, "If you keep quiet, no one will mistake you for a mute."
Zhuang Zhixi scratched his head, chuckling sheepishly.
