As she walked through the courtyard, her eyes kept darting to the window of Ming Mei's room. After a while, she saw that the other houses were locked. She quietly turned around and silently approached the window of Ming Mei's house.
She held her breath and listened intently.
Wang Xiangxiu had just crouched down when she suddenly felt the window slide open. Startled, she didn't even have time to react before a bucket of cold water was dumped directly on her. Fortunately, the weather was warm now. If it had been the slightest bit colder, that bucket of water would have been a real nuisance.
Even so, Wang Xiangxiu couldn't help but shiver.
She pursed her lips, about to look up, when she saw the window close again.
