Ves was careful not to put too much stock into Arnold's judgment.
Though he felt that the latest theory sounded so compelling that it had to be true, Ves reminded himself that the biased perception of a beast-turned-design spirit could still be flawed.
He had to maintain an open mind and prevent himself from committing to a narrative just because it sounded the most interesting.
Ves suddenly adopted a sardonic smile. "I am far too prone to falling for a good story. Not everything can be as neat in reality."
That said, he did not discount Arnold's contribution. His perception was special in his own way. His strange abilities granted him a certain degree of authority over parallel existences and such. If he claimed that he felt a sense of kinship towards the mysterious Destroyer particles, then there was a decent chance that his judgment had merit.
